Picture Lake Campground

Camping at Picture Lake Campground might just be one of the best options if you’re looking to book an RV in Dinwiddie County, Virginia. This RV park has a swimming pool where you can cool down on a hot day, there’s fishing for either the avid angler or someone who just wants to sit back and relax, and you can also rent a kayak. Perhaps not as tranquil an activity, but it sure is equally fun. If you brought the kids with you on your Petersburg camping trip, they’ll love the playground - maybe they’ll even refuse to leave when it’s time for dinner.

It doesn’t matter if you find a large RV rental near Picture Lake Campground or not, because most sizes are fine to park in this Petersburg campground, seeing as there are plenty of pull-through sites to choose from. You also have the option of 30 or 50 amp service, but the hookups are full either way - unless you ask for partial hookups, of course. If you (or the kids) feel a little hungry, all you need to do is pop into the on-site store and stock up on snacks, and if you’d need to spend a lot of time in the rental motorhome at Picture Lake Campground, don’t worry - there’s Wi-Fi to keep everyone entertained.

The surrounding area is as fun and exciting as the RV campground, and you’ll be close to a pretty large amount of sites that played a role, big or small, in the Civil War. Take Petersburg National Battlefield, where the longest military event of the whole war took place, for example. Here you can learn about Grant and Lee, among lots of other battle-related facts. By renting an RV in Petersburg, you’ll also be close to Fort Lee Military Base - if you’re not a military buff already, you will be after this visit.
