The Chattahoochee Forest is split into four ranger districts: Blue Ridge, Chattooga River, Conasauga, and Oconee. While each has a very similar setup, there are some differences. There are well over 850 miles of trails that’ll weave you through the forest to all the must-see spots. The Track Rock Petroglyphs are perhaps the most unique location of the group. Here, you can view ancient rock carvings of the area’s earliest ancestors. Some sort of roadway connects all these spots, so you don’t have to physically walk the many miles in between them. The Chattooga River is the spot to cool off or up your adrenaline. There is plenty of shorelines to cast a line, throw down a towel, or head out on the water. Boat rentals are available, and tour companies will take you white water rafting if that’s on the to-do list.
