Rambler RV Park is one of the closest places to camp when you get an RV rental in Moscow, Idaho. While it’s a rather small park, they offer sites with full hookups and Wi-Fi. The park is just a few miles outside of town, making this one of the most convenient places to camp when you choose a motorhome rental in Moscow. For a more rustic stay, consider taking your travel trailer rental from Moscow out to the Giant White Pine Campground in the mountains north of the city. Sites there have no hookups, but they do offer clean drinking water and the use of a vault toilet. Visitors don’t come for the amenities though; they come for the beautiful hiking trails that start at the edge of the campground and wind their way into the Rocky Mountains. Just getting to the campground is an exciting experience, though, as it’s located on the exquisite White Pines Scenic Byway. Little Boulder Campground is also fairly close by and within view of some stunning peaks. Sites at the campground are quite primitive, only having drinking waters and a few bathrooms. The campground also lies within the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest, which contains a vast network of hiking trails with varying difficulty. However, if you want to stay close to town, there’s always the parking lot of Moscow’s Walmart. You’ll need to get the manager’s permission before setting up there, but it could be a convenient place to stay for a night or two of amenity-free camping.

Despite its small size, Moscow is the hub of culture in the Idaho panhandle thanks to the thousands of university students who make their home there. For a great night out when you’re in Moscow, head to the Kenworthy Performing Arts Center, which regularly showcases local talent in live stage performances, concerts, and also does art house film screenings. If you’re interested in learning about equestrian life in northern Idaho, head to the Appaloosa Museum and Heritage Center. The center is attached to the Appaloosa Breeding Center and gives a fantastic overview of the majestic Appaloosa horse. Even if you don’t consider yourself a horse person, it’s worth checking out just to learn about how the Appaloosa came to be and how the area’s Native American inhabitants utilized them. Feel the need for some retail therapy? Post Falls is an excellent day trip when you get a motorhome rental in Moscow as the town is home to a variety of outlet malls. A bit farther away, but with even more shopping opportunities in Spokane, the largest city in eastern Washington.
