We actually drove our RV across the USA from West Coast, Portland, Oregon (Northwest) to East Coast, Lakeland, Florida, when we decided to move South. As we traveled down I-5 South towards I-10, we stopped at several Casinos & other tourist areas, or RV Parks, visiting each State (and family & friends) as we traveled through Oregon, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Alabama & Florida. We had been vacationing all throughout Florida for several years, and knew we wanted to retire in the Beautiful State of Florida. But not quite ready for retirement, we decided to sell our home anyway, in the Northwest Suburbs of Portland, Oregon (not enjoying living there any longer), and move while the Real Estate Market was good for buying & selling homes. We lived in an RV Park in Central Florida, while we continued to search for our forever home. We finally found our dream home in Lakeland, Florida!! We absolutely love Polk County & enjoy it's proximity to Tampa & Orlando. It's like living on vacation every day here. My husband, Chris & I both work from home, so this was a perfect move for us. There is so much to do & see here in Florida & the weather is beautiful year-round.
