Alabama’s largest state park, Oak Mountain State Park, is just a short drive away in Pelham. At this massive park, you’ll find over 50 miles of trails, including the trail to Peavine Falls, a 65-foot spring-fed waterfall. You can also participate in a vast array of outdoor activities from staples like fishing and biking to a unique community archery park. Nature lovers should also head north to Hoover, where you’ll find the Moss Rock Preserve. This nature preserve is home to rare natural formations and plenty of hiking trails, and rock climbing enthusiasts will delight in the preserve’s Boulder Field. You can also take an easy day trip with the Alabaster RV rental to the Talladega National Forest, where you can relax in the river or explore miles of scenic hiking trails.

You can also experience plenty of natural beauty in and around the city of Alabaster. The Ebenezer Swamp Ecological Preserve is located in the city on the University of Montevallo campus. At this preserve, you can observe plenty of unique swamp wildlife and plant species while enjoying art from UM students.

Bird lovers should head to nearby Limestone Park, where you can observe birds in a variety of natural habitats from swamps to grasslands, and disc golfers should check out Veterans Park. Veterans Park is also home to the Beneful Dream Dog Park, which offers plenty of off-leash agility activities for you and your furry friend to enjoy. In addition to basics like gas stations and grocery stores, Alabaster also has a quaint downtown filled with local shops and restaurants. CityFest celebrates Alabaster’s birthday on the first Saturday of June each year by featuring games, rides, live music, and other fun activities. The Christmas Parade in early December features over 100 floats and is one of the largest parades in the nation. Plan your Alabaster rental RV vacation around these times to see Alabaster at its best.
