How does the idea of a vast lake surrounded by rolling hills sound? It’s all yours to experience when you make your way to Cane Creek Lake in eastern Arkansas for a motorhome camping trip. A couple of miles southeast of Star City, the lake is a part of the popular Cane Creek State Park and covers over 1675 acres. A highlight of Cane Creek Lake is its proximity to the Bartholomew Bayou, considered amongst the longest bayous in the world. Completed in 1987 as a part of a project by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, the lake was built by damming the Cane Creek, a tributary of the Bartholomew Bayou. The surrounding woods contribute to Cane Creek Lake’s timber-filled waters and make for a great outdoor recreation spot.
