However, fishing is allowed further away from the dam. There are several marinas and boat ramps here that can be used by anglers. Fishing at Lake Maumelle is a great experience. This body of water is home to a large number of different fish species. Anglers may catch crappie, catfish, striped bass, and black bass. If you wish to stay on the shore and throw a line from there, you will find several areas that are frequented by anglers. These are very close to marinas, and campers may spot them easily.
Camping at Lake Maumelle
When you plan on camping with an RV at Lake Maumelle, Maumelle COE could be your best option. This campground is quite large, with a total of 128 sites for long vehicles and RVs. The gravel sites are well-maintained, and each of them has a picnic table as well as a fire ring. Additionally, campers will have access to showers, restrooms, a boat ramp, and playgrounds. This campground doesn’t have a convenience store, but you may get all the supplies in Little Rock, just a short drive away.

First-time visitors often come to the Arkansas State Capitol. This building was completed in 1899, and it served as a state prison. The architecture is simply breathtaking, with a large golden cupola at the top. Arkansas State Capitol houses several historical artifacts and monuments such as the Little Rock Nine Civil Rights memorial and a replica of the Liberty Bell. Visitors may go on a guided tour if they want to learn even more about all the exhibits displayed in the Arkansas State Capitol.
