What's the only thing better than a road trip? A road trip in a big van! Rent our custom-converted 2016 Mercedes Sprinter van, perfect for a weekend vacation or longer. This van has everything you need and nothing you don't and we kept it relatively simple on purpose, so it's perfect for a young couple or family with dog, but great for anyone. Based in Los Osos (Morro Bay, CA). My family likes to migrate this big bird from Baja Mexico, to British Columbia, depending on the season. It's a great way to travel and see the road. That why we call the van "The Goose"!We just remodelled the van, and it has some great new features, including a big battery and inverter, an induction stove, and satellite internet. Come pick up this 'adventure-mobile' on your way out to Yosemite, Big Sur, Montana de Oro, Wine Country or wherever! We're in Los Osos, 15 minutes west of SLO, 10 minutes south of Morro Bay. The van can safely seat 5 and could sleep 2-5 depending on the configuration and size of sleepers. Pets are welcome!We kindly also ask you bring your own bedding (sheets, pillows, and blankets) and if possible your own camping gear (I do have some loaner equipment I can rent for a small fee). If you're from out of town, or flying in, I can have the van completely set up for you. If you're local, contact me and stop by for a look. If you're not, I can give video tours of the van beforehand if you want to see anything. There's a number of confirgurations possible and I have all the gear you'll need to camp in style. Rent the van and start the adventure!Rentals are restricted to a 4 night minimum, but can be flexible with a small additional cleaning fee.What's includedRenters provide their own bedding (sheets, blankets, pillows). I can provide a camp kitchen, chairs, a table, headlamps, lanterns, bike rack, bikes, heater, hammocks, slack line, smokeless fire pit, etc. Just let me know what you need or want and we'll make it happen. I'm a total gearhead and have it all.If you're from out of town, or don't have camping gear, you can use my gear, or I can fill in gaps in your kit if necessary. We'll make it work. Just communicate and we'll figure it out.RecommendationsTo many recommendations to list in full. Get on the road and play it by ear! The rig has been to British Columbia, Montana, Idaho, Utah, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Arizona and all over Calfornia. The best spots nearby are the Big Sur coastline, Yosemite, Santa Barbara, Monterey, wine country, or just the local beaches around Montana De Oro, Morro Bay, Cambria, Avila Beach and San Luis Obispo. You don't need to go far to have an adventure.Other things to noteWe just ask you travel safe, communicate with the owner and take care of our van like it was your own. We offer it up to help pay for the maintenance and upkeep of the van and really enjoy watching others enjoy it as much as we do. The Van was amazing, runs great, great to drive and comfortable to sleep, with fans, bug screens, and black outs. Without the back seats it has plenty of space in the back for 2 adults to circulate. The got shower is a plus!

Rules and policies
All we ask is that you treat our van as though it was your own. Sprinters are really easy to drive and handle quite well but as with any larger vehicle, you need to take turns a little wider and watch short bridges, overpasses and drive-throughs. Take care of the van and she'll take care of you!

What flexibility is available for picking up and dropping off the RV?

A.

I'm flexible on pickup and dropoff as long as there's no renters before or after your rental. Otherwise we follow general hotel rules. Checkin after 3 pm, Checkout before 11 am. Just communicate and we'll sort out the details, those times aren't set in stone.

What is included in the daily rate?

A.

The van and anything you want. I used to rent all the gear (kitchen, chairs, tables, shower, surfboards, etc), but now just provide it for free with the expectation that damaged gear will be replaced. Will accept tips for the full kit, but not required. The goal is to make sure you have everything you need to have fun.

We're a young couple who live in Los Osos, CA (San Luis Obispo County). We both work in education and own a rescue bulldog named Orly. Our favorite spots to camp are in Yosemite, Morro Bay, Kirk Creek, San Simeon, Plaskett Creek and Limekiln campgrounds in Big Sur. We also enjoy taking the van up to wine country, or up to the mountains for a snow weekend to China Peak, Tahoe or Mammoth. The van works great for a weekend in the LA or the Bay Area where you can park near friends or family and avoid expensive and gross hotels. If you're coming from the Central Valley or either the SF Bay Area of LA, SLO is almost right in the middle, so you can pick up the van for an adventure and cruise to the destination of your choice. If you have instagram, my wife and I started an account which originally was to document the conversion of the van but these days, the dog seems to feature more heavily in the feed. It's a good place to check out some photos of the adventures we've been on, and the work we put into converting the van from an empty canvas to weekend warrior. We'd love to help host your next adventure in our beloved "Gray Goose" camper van.
