Getting Outdoors

There are two distinctive caves in Pinnacles National Park which are open to the public during specific times of the year. Be sure to verify when the caves are open, and then plan a week or so of RV camping at Pinnacles National Park. Bear Gulch Cave hosts the largest maternity colony of Townsend’s big-eared bats between San Francisco and Mexico. The bats give birth here in the spring and summer. The cave closes when the maternity colony is still present so the bats are undisturbed. The Balconies Cave usually remains open when the Bear Gulch Cave is closed.

We really enjoyed this RV! It was our first time in an actual RV, and it won’t be the last! The RV itself was super clean and pick up was incredibly easy. It was so nice to come back from the trails to a real bed! Where we camped we didn’t have any hook ups or electricity, so I think both us and the owner found out some new things about the camper. Like the fridge in this RV doesn’t stay on all the time if not hooked to electricity. But our friends helped out and everything worked out. We also weren’t experienced enough to know to ask how an RV works with no hook ups, so now we do! We would totally rent this RV again in a place with hook ups.
