Winnie is a 2021 trailer with many modern conveniences for outdoor fun. It has a large kitchen sink, a three-burner cooktop, a convection/microwave oven, and convection/micro wave oven and large 6cu. refrigerator. With the 'murphy bed’ up and the slide fully extended, there is lots of room to entertain inside. There is tons of storage; a pantry, a wine locker, coats and drawers for clothes with soft-close hardware. The private bath room has a large shower, a toilet, a sink, and tons of storage.

For dry camping, we have a 600 watt solar system which makes available a comfortable “off-grid” camping. See the limitations below.

What's included

There will be clean, fresh linens, towels, wash cloths and even beach towels. They are all micro-fiber so they dry fast. The Minnie is stocked with cookware, utensils, camp table. Also there is outdoor carpet, two folding chairs and bike rack for two provided. You can add a camping grill that hooks up to the trailers propane and 2000 watt generator available if you want to run the AC when boon-docking for a small fee.

Recommendations

We've used Minnie for stays in the wine country, visiting friends and many National Parks. Yosemite, the Grand Canyon, Zion and Moab for boon-docking outside of CanyonLand and Arches. The balloon festival in Albuquerque is amazing.

Other things to note

● Remember, this is a no-smoking trailer.
● No festivals, concerts, or tailgating allowed.
● Return the trailer holding tanks empty.
● The awning is not intended for high winds as it could damage it.
● Solar limitations, which are AC and the microwave/convection oven, are not available with the solar system alone. Close battery monitoring is required.
● The AC will not run without the added power from the generator, as this could damage the lithium-ion batteries.

USE OF SOLAR AND BATTARY AGREEMENT

Solar panels charge the batteries. The location of the sun and clouds, or tree shade will determine the effectiveness of the charge.

At full charge, the battery meter near the door reads 13.5v. If energy is being used more than the solar is being charged, the meter will show a decline. It will slowly decline to 12v (at which time the battery will be at 50% capacity). Below 12v it will rapidly lose charge. When it reaches 10v (20% capacity) the batteries shut down until recharged. Recharging will take at least 3 hours depending on the source because the batteries will only accept a trickle charge. This is the way the Lithium batteries protect themselves.

If there is a battery shut down, you will not be able to bring in the slide, the stabilizers nor the tongue jack. In order to bring the system back up if a shut down occurs, attach the trailer’s electric connection to a running tow vehicle. Direct sunlight and/or a generator can also bring the system up and running after several hours. The system tracks usage and a report will be run at the end of every rental.

Here are considerations concerning prolonging the battery charge:
● Air Conditioner cannot be supported but just a solar charge.
● Microwave/Convection oven are not able to be supported by just a solar charge.
● The refrigerator is always on. Keep it on gas. It will still pull a charge, but much less.
● Water heater should be on gas. It also still pulls a small charge, but much less. It is recommended to turn the water heater off when not needed. It’s small and so heats up quickly.
● These items all pull a charge:
○ Lights
○ Charging devices (Laptops take 12x more energy to charge than a phone)
○ TV or DVD player (may not be usable when battery is not being charged)

I UNDERSTAND THE INFORMATION ABOVE AND I WILL MONITOR THE BATTERY CHARGE TO ENSURE THAT THE CHARGE WILL NOT GO UNDER 12v. I UNDERSTAND THAT I WILL BE WHOLLY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO THE BATTERIES OR OTHER SYSTEMS, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO REPLACEMENT OF THE BATTERY, IF I ALLOW THE SYSTEM TO GO BELOW 12v.

Meet your host, Steve

Member since 2020

My wife and I have been together for 49 years and still enjoy each others company. We have 4 children (2 girls, 2 boys and 7 grand boys). We’ve used this trailer for the last year to travel all over California to see its parks, ocean, mountains. Last fall we visited Yosemite, Mono Lk, the Grand Canyon, Zion, Canyon Land, Arches. Pikes Peak and Albuquerque’s balloon festival. This little trailer performed perfectly for us; over a month on the road with a couple of side trips. We stayed in RV park, dry camped and boondocked at some of the most amazing placed in the wester USA.

Really amazing! First, Steve is so great. A really nice person, casual, comfortable and slowly went over every detail. And pay attention to every detail because later I thought “oh yeah, Steve told me this, then that” etc. we had a small issue with a circuit breaker and we’re over an hour away- Steve came out right away and was so nice about it. Same with the return, helped us review and get going. Couldn’t ask for a better person to rent from. Just be honest about issues and listen to what he tells you.

June 20225

We had a wonderful experience with our rental. The experience was especially successful because of Steve and his wife (owners). They took the time to show us everything we needed to know before starting our journey. The trailer itself was clean and comfortable. Already packed with the essentials needed for sleeping, cooking and cleaning for 4 people.

We rented Steve’s Trailer in June 2022 and had a Great Experience! Steve explained the different functions of the trailer (tanks, solar, gauges, internal conversion, and motor controls) efficiently as well as setting/leveling the trailer when parking and hooking up the hitch. He also provided instructions for the hitch and leveling set up which was helpful in the moment. The extra kitchen and outdoor accessories were also helpful when we needed them. We will rent the Minnie Winnie from Steve in the future.
