Discover Montreal

The Great Outdoors

There are few places in the world that bring more out of nature than St. Helen’s Island. This man-made island is terrific for hiking, biking, or even hitting the beach. Then you have the nature attractions that make this island a must see. You can find the Montreal Biodome on the island where you will find four amazing diverse ecosystems to explore. Arctic, aquatic, North American, and South American forest habitats make this place a real adventure. If you prefer thousands of varieties of fauna instead, you can head over to the Montreal Botanical Garden. Covering 185 acres with beautiful exhibits, statues, and plant sculptures, this place is loaded with inspiration. You can also find the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium and the Montreal Insectarium on this island.

Take your Montreal motorhome rental over to Mount Royal where you can find a great view overlooking Montreal along with beautiful hiking trails that aren’t too difficult on this awesome mountain. St Helen’s Island is part of Parc Jean-Drapeau where you can also find Notre Dame Island for a beautiful scenic drive along the St. Lawrence River. Have a nice walk around the Lachine Canal and relax while taking in the beautiful views on this canal named after hopeful settlers who believed they had found their way to China. Another gorgeous destination is La Fontaine Park right in the city. With its well laid out forestry, it feels like a dream at any time of day. There’s so much to enjoy amongst nature when you rent an RV in Montreal that will take you to a worry free zone.

RV Parks

While it’s hard to find a place to park your RV inside the city, there are plenty of spots in the surrounding area for a comfortable home base. An easy solution is the Montreal South KOA in Saint-Philippe, under half an hour away. This is one of the closest campgrounds to Montreal and has plenty of amenities. The sites here are full hookup and there’s Wi-Fi and a pool. Guests can even enjoy a game of mini-golf right on site.

In Longueuil, you’ll find the Sogerive Halte RV Park, another option for your Montreal camper rental, under ten miles away. There are footbridges that connect this site to Old Longueuil and all the shopping and restaurants there. Take the river shuttle on your doorstep right into Montreal. Convenience is key here and otherwise, the campsite is fairly primitive although there is a dump station and water available.

You can also try Camping Alouette as your home away from home. It’s in Saint-Mathieu-de-Beloeil, about half an hour away in your Montreal luxury RV rental. Here you will find a nice range of amenities, and nearby nature reserves with resources just a mile or so down the main highway. You can take a dip in the heated swimming pool and the sites are full hookup. There’s a wide range of sporting activities available like basketball, volleyball, and darts as well.

Explore the City

After you find your spot to stay there are countless ways to spend your time in Montreal. You can explore some of the best of local culture at the Pointe-à-Callière Museum. Have an exciting day to remember at La Ronde, a six flags amusement park. Then explore some of the classic areas of Montreal like the Old Port of Montreal dating back hundreds of years. Mile End Montreal is also a cool experience that is totally worth checking out. You can find cool spots like the Insectarium and Space For Life on St. Helen’s island. You should also check out the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts for some of the finest works in all of Canada.
