The Great Outdoors

If you book an RV in Dillon, you’ll be in the heart of Colorado’s stunning Rocky Mountains, so you’ll find plenty of outdoor activities just minutes from the city. If you visit in the summer, you can enjoy a day on the water at the Dillon Reservoir or head into the mountains for a scenic day hike. Marina Park lies on the northeastern corner of the lake and visitors to the park can enjoy public fishing and boating docks as well as paths for biking and hiking. You can also enjoy the Dillon Reservoir on the Old Dillon Reservoir Trail, where you can hike, mountain bike, and even fish.

RV Parks

While Dillon is a hub for outdoor adventure, its mountainous terrain makes RV camping somewhat scarce. If you’d like to stay close to town, you can stay at one of the many developed campgrounds in the surrounding recreation areas. The Prospector Campground is on the other side of the reservoir and it offers basic amenities like vault toilets, drinking water, and a boat ramp. The Heaton Bay Campground is a bit closer to town, and it has sites with a handful of electrical hookups, toilets, and drinking water.

Exploring the City

Although this mountain town is fairly small, it’s bustling with visitors, and you’ll find plenty to do when you book a motorhome rental in Dillon. At the Dillon Amphitheater, the city hosts concerts, dance nights, and a farmers market. If you stroll through downtown Dillon, you’ll find plenty of local shops, restaurants, micro-breweries, and during December, you can enjoy a stunning display of holiday lights that make the town look like a regular winter wonderland.

We had an amazing experience with this van for our Southwest road trip! We traveled from Colorado to the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Moab, Arches, and Dead Horse Point with our two dogs, and the van handled everything perfectly.
