Located about 15 miles northwest of Denver, Colorado is the town of Louisville. Not to be confused with the famous maker of the Louisville Slugger, the city was a mining community in the late 19th century that experienced significant violence due to labor disputes. When the final mines were closed in the 1950s, it transitioned to a suburban residential community with many of its residents working in and around the Greater Denver Area. You’ll also discover you’re in the heart of what many consider some of the most beautiful countryside and amazing natural wonders throughout the country. To the northwest you will find the beginning of Rocky Mountain National Park. If you head slightly southwest, you can check out Golden Gate Canyon State Park near Black Hawk.
