Historically, Red Feather Lakes was the home of Native Americans. It wasn’t until the late 1800s that settlers who moved to Colorado began to explore the area that is now Red Feather Lakes. Thanks to the American West Gold Rush, the area of Red Feather Lakes began to blossom as more and more settlers moved into the area. Today, Red Feather Lakes remains a small community that takes pride in its history as well as the natural beauty around it.
