Cami the Campervan is an Chevy Express Explorer conversion van, perfect for camping & road trips! At ~18' long, she's no bigger than a standard sized pick-up truck -- manageable for almost anyone, and can fit in any normal parking spot. She's got AWD and low miles (~73k as of June '22), and is well-maintained with regular oil changes. Additionally, Cami has gotten new all-terrain tires, brakes, rotors, shocks, and headlights within the past 2 years. Her battery is new as of May '22. Cami is both comfortable and fun to drive, with 2 comfy leather bucket seats, a back-up camera, & an upgraded head unit with Apple Carplay & bluetooth. Her tow hitch offers you the option to tow a boat or trailer, or bring your hitch-mount ski/bike rack. The interior is outfitted with a full-size 6" thick foam mattress, kitchenette, and some shelves & cubbies for food & personal items. The kitchenette has a 2-burner cooktop & a sink connected to 10gal freshwater/10gal graywater tanks. Cami also has a heater to keep you warm on chilly nights. Cami's solar battery recharges both from solar panels AND when the van is running; offering power for some interior lights, the water pump, and the heater system... plus to charge your phone, run the 12v box fan, & other light electronics. *Note: if camping in a location with access to electrical power; you can also plug-in the battery with the provided extension cord overnight.* Cami's rear roll-out storage tray keeps the cooler, chairs, side tables, & camping supplies out of the way during travel -- and has extra space for some of your luggage, or camp wood. Cami is parked in a private business parking lot in Dover NH, where you can leave your car. Reach out for info on getting here from Boston! 10% off for trips 7+ nights / 15% off for trips 14+ nights. IG @cami_thecampervan During the key hand-off, you'll get training on how to use Cami and all her systems (plan on ~30 mins) -- plus a detailed user guide to refer to on your trip.

Recommendations

Cami the Campervan is great for camping trips & road trips! With 100 miles/day included in the nightly rate; you could go up into the NH White Mountains, over to the Lake Sunapee area, or up to Sebago or Freeport areas in Maine during a 3-night trip. With a week-long rental, adventuring to Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park, Baxter State Park, Rangley ME, Burlington VT, Lake George NY, or up to the NH/Canada border are all possible without extra charges.

Reach out for recommendations on specific campgrounds, including what's open year-round!

5. No off-roading allowed. Paved and packed dirt roads (like campground roads) only. No driving up Mount Washington's auto road.

6. Any damage caused by renters following your rental period will incur an additional administrative charge of 30% of the cost of the parts/repairs. Example: if a repair costs $100, the renter will be charged $130.

Cami was awesome! We got to go up to Acadia and Camden state park and had a great time. Everything we needed pretty much came with the van and she served us well. Nick and Hilary were both great to communicate with and helpful. Would totally rent again :)

July 20225

Had a great time “glamping” in Cami. The bed was very comfortable and there is plenty of storage for all your gear. Although we did not use the stove or sink this time (we had set up outside with our own equipment), we could have comfortably used it otherwise. The so,at panels are a plus as it kept the battery charged so we could plug in our phones and iPads at night.
Hillary was great and extremely accommodating. The pickup and drop off were super easy.

We loved camping with Cami! Hilary was terrific. She always communicated promptly and clearly, provided excellent written instructions for operating everything in the van, and went out of her way to accommodate us when we had to change plans last minute due to illness. Super-comfortable drive (and bed!) I highly recommend you book Cami for your next camping adventure.

January 20225

We rented Cami for a long weekend getaway up in Maine. Hilary was super communicative and helpful in planning the trip, explaining our options and what to expect. She made check in and out super easy. The van has a comfy bed, a lot of storage areas for such a small space, and even a few added extras to use like utensils/cookware. It was dog friendly for a small fee which was huge for us so we could bring our frenchie with us! We were a little nervous to go winter camping but the van has a great battery system and powers a propane heater which even kept us warm in NEGATIVE temps in Maine in January. It is a great size to zip around everywhere you need to go so gives you a lot of freedom for parking and going places a larger van wouldn’t allow for. But definitely tight inside so make sure you aren’t planning to spend most of your time inside (you can’t fully stand inside!). Also the curtains are adorable but bring extra blankets to cover the windows if you want a more blacked out sleeping experience :)

We are the first time RV campers. Hilary has been extremely kind and patient, she has answered all our questions timely, and spent additional time training us on our pick up day, all was clear and sufficient which made possible for us to enjoy a wonderful first RV trip. Hilary’s Cami is a very comfortable home on road for two.

Have a question?Get answers directly from the owner

Q.What am I responsible for during my rental period?
A.
While renting Cami, you are responsible for returning her in the same condition you took her in, with the exception of normal dirt/dust that your cleaning fee covers. Additionally -- although Cami is well-maintained and receives regular oil changes & check-ups; on the off chance that a warning light comes on -- you would need to report the issue immediately, and likely stop into a mechanic along your travels to confirm the reason for the light before continuing on.

Q.What do you recommend I bring on my trip?
A.
It's recommended to bring your own EZPass, phone charger, and of course your own personal items/toiletries and groceries. You can either bring your own bedding/towels or choose the *add-on* during booking to have them provided for you. Some other items that I've found convenient to have handy are antibacterial hand wipes and surface cleaning wipes. If you're camping, you'll want to grab your own firewood too.

Q.Is Cami difficult to drive?
A.
Cami is 18' long; about the same length as a large pick-up truck. She can fit in most standard parking spaces. She will feel large to drive compared to a sedan or small SUV, but if you're comfortable driving pick-up trucks, delivery trucks, busses, or XL SUVs, you'll feel confident driving Cami.

Q.How big is Cami's interior?
A.
Cami is a Chevy Express van with an Explorer conversion (raising the height of the roof). Cami feels fairly spacious inside for 1 person & a dog; she's a bit cozier for 2 people & a dog, and she starts feeling more cramped for 2 people & 2 dogs. She is definitely not as large inside as a Sprinter, Promaster, or Winnebago; she's about 5'2" at max height inside. The trade-off is she's "right-sized" for most people to feel very confident driving, backing up, and parking.
