When I met the owner I explained that this was my second time using an RV. She had me video her pre-trip explanation of the particulars of her RV. I still have the video. At no time did she tell me to be cautious with the water pressure at the RV Site. We rented for 3 nights. On the first night (Friday) we had no issues with the water hookup. We had gone for the day and when reconnecting the water on the second night, water began gushing onto the ground from behind the wall where the connection goes into the RV. It was late, so I waited until Sunday morning to text the owner. She quickly called and told me to talk to the RV site rep to see if there had been problems in the past, and to ask other RV'ers what they do about the water pressure. The rep said they never warn any customers of high pressure. The FIRST RV guy I talked with told me he has a pressure reducing valve on his supply hose, and that this is standard equipment for RV's. I sent the name and ph # of the RV site rep to the owner and photos of the pressure reducer on the hose of the guy I talked to. Then I crawled under the RV, found the connector that had burst and reconnected it. I feathered in the water pressure and we had no leaks. I messaged the owner that I had fixed her problem. She said. "thanks for being proactive and taking responsibility". She also said, "most people have common sense about this." I reminded her that she had not warned me about any potential water pressure problems. I suggested she either warn any future renters about the sensitivity of her water lines or, be proactive and responsible to get the STANDARD equipment needed to remedy the problem. She said, "this is why I don't like to rent to men, because they're heavy handed and klutzy".
On a final note, when hooking up on the FIRST day, I removed the cap on the RV to make the sewer connection. Out came about a QUART of soupy poop water onto my hands and the concrete pad below the RV. NEITHER the BLACK or grey water tanks had been emptied prior to my taking the RV.
So, rent with caution unless you don't mind being told you have no common sense, you're heavy handed, and klutzy, AND you don't mind getting poop on your hands.
GINGER HILL canceled the booking 2 days before departure. This is an automated posting.
We had a very enjoyable trip with this van. No mechanical trouble, bed was super comfortable, and amenities were pretty close to “as advertised”. It’s obviously a well- used van both by the owner and by renters, and there were some internal maintenance items that were not really taken care of prior to our rental period that we didn’t really notice but impacted what we were held accountable for after the trip. We tried very hard to care for the van as our own, but owner proved difficult to work with in the end on this. Overall, for what we were charged per day, a newer, better cared for vehicle would make more sense.
The van was returned with significant damage. The seatbelt casing was broken, a door handle was torn off, a cabinet latch was broken and coffee pot was shattered and the toaster handle broken off. They also did not empty the black and grey water or fill the fresh water. There was urine and Punic hairs all over the toilet and bathroom floor. It was disgusting! Andrew was not a good listener and very heavy with my van. These two knew they returned the van with all of the above damage but refused to take responsibility for any of it. My van is exceptionally well maintained and cared for.
I would have expected more from older folks. Do not rent to these people!!!
Had an awesome experience! Such an amazing van with everything you need! The van has a great heater and air conditioning perfect for any trip any time. Super easy to drive an park anywhere! Set up like a dream any beginner or seasoned tripper can use. Ginger was super helpful and great at teaching us the ropes. Easy to customize to your own style and to feel comfortable for long or short trips. We didn’t want our trip to end!

Great experience with Ginger. She was quick to respond. She delivered the van and it was just like the photos. I was a first time van user, so the van was easy to learn, lots of space and very functional. I was able to work on the road while enjoying the beautiful scenery. Was able to cook a great meal and the shower was there for a quick rinse after a hike. It’s a home on wheels!
