Lake Oconee / Greensboro KOA

Those who enjoy going off the beaten path will appreciate a visit to The Old Gaol. The old building dates back to 1807. It was used as a jail for almost 100 years and was considered to be one of the worst jails in the area. You can learn about the jail's past and the practices of the 1800s when you visit this historic structure. For something on the lighter side, you can spend part of your day at the Rogers House Museum. The historic Victorian house offers visitors a look into what life would’ve been like in the late 1800s. You will be able to see furnishings, artifacts, and artwork from the period, and you can even take a tour. The State Botanical Garden of Georgia is just a short drive north of the RV park and is a wonderful place for a contemplative stroll. You can meander through the different gardens and learn about the local flora, various flowers from around the world, and even different fruits and vegetables. The garden also hosts a wide variety of events focused on educating people of all ages. When it's time to restock and refuel while you're RV camping, you'll find plenty of gas stations around Lake Oconee/Greensboro KOA; however, you may need to travel a little bit farther to find large grocery stores. And when you're touring The Peach State with an RV rental, make sure you sit down to a freshly baked slice of peach pie or peach cobbler. Just about any local diner will have this sweet treat, and it will be the perfect end to your day.
