Around an hour's drive east of Atlanta is the uniquely named town of Social Circle, Georgia. This pleasant town is home to a few thousand residents, just a few miles off of Interstate 20 which connects Atlanta to Augusta to the east.

City comforts are never far, but peace and quiet is the main reason why most people choose to rent an RV in Social Circle.

Discover Social Circle

The Great Outdoors

There are various places to bring your Social Circle RV rental when you visit the small enchanting town in central Georgia. Hitting the road and taking a long road trip can be exciting, but you hardly have to drive far to get a good glimpse of what the Peach State has to offer. Big Haynes Creek Recreation Area is a commonly visited lakefront space in the warmer months, doubling as a nature sanctuary to protect endemic wildlife. There are tons of bird species to observe and photograph, waterways to kayak or canoe in, trails to hike or ride horses on, and a nature center to learn about the park’s wild residents.

Visiting Hard Labor Creek State Park is not as daunting as it sounds. This relaxing getaway is home to a fantastic array of features, like an eighteen-hole golf course, a driving range, and several camping areas that can accommodate you and your Social Circle camper rental. The park is known for its beauty and has been a filming location for several big-name movie productions.

Indian Springs State Park to the south is a fantastic place to unwind by the water, thought to be one of the oldest state parks in the entire nation. The park is known for its healing hot springs, used for centuries by the Creek indigenous people for their medicinal properties. Indian Springs State Park has plenty of camping sites to choose from when you rent an RV, as well as a fully-stocked fishing lake, a historical museum, a mini-golf course, and a boat rental stand.

Oconee National Forest is a sprawling wilderness east of Atlanta, between Macon and Athens. Much of the park is centered around Lake Sinclair, where most of the recreation areas and campgrounds are concentrated. You can camp by the lake in your Social Circle motorhome rental, and delight in mesmerizing sunsets over the water, or swim in the vast lake to cool off. Horseback riding, mountain biking, thru-hiking: you name it, this natural paradise is bound to have what you need.

RV Parks

You won’t encounter too much trouble finding a place to camp for the night when you rent an RV in Social Circle, though many of the nearby RV parks only cater to long-term stays. Country Boys RV Park is an option in the area and offers communal fire pits, playgrounds for children, bathhouses and restrooms, and a variety of other comforts to help you feel at home.

Riverside Estates RV Park has its own swimming pool in addition to spacious campsites, sports fields, playgrounds, fishing areas along the Yellow River, and a covered pavilion for hosting events.

Pine Lake RV Campground is a lush camping destination with two catch-and-release fishing ponds, treehouses, cabins, laundry facilities, and much more.

Exploring the City

When you book a motorhome rental in Social Circle, you can also explore some of the charming spots in and around the town. There are some nice places to eat and shop, like any other small town, but most of the area’s points of interest are around ten miles away in neighboring cities like Monroe and Covington. In Covington, you can visit the Pop-Up TV & Film Museum, a strange but fascinating collection of pop culture memorabilia, scripts, costumes, and film props. The small town has been featured in numerous shows and movies, so naturally, a place like this should exist to pay homage to the industry.

Monroe has a couple of fun places to check out, like the Monroe Museum in the heart of town. The history of Monroe, and by extension Walton County, is on full display in this informative facility, maintained by passionate volunteers.

Elsewhere in Monroe, you can shop at the Monroe Farmers Market for artisan goods and immaculate produce. Pottery, jewelry, paintings, photographs, postcards, cheeses, fresh vegetables, and more: Monroe Farmers Market is a fabulous place to support small, locally-owned businesses.
