My occupation calls for me to be "offline" occasionally and unfortunately most of the 12 hours in question were while I was at work. I did not "willingly" accept the reservation and money, the system automatically responded. I acted as soon as I was aware of the situation and handled the refund in a prompt professional manner. Moira, your level of anger and vitriol is completely misguided and uncalled for. To say that I am the cause of harm to your situation with your father, mother and son you relinquished 35 years ago is misguided and insulting. Not only did you request the reservation mere days before your trip I responded as soon as I saw that the system had accepted the listing. I also authorized Outdoorsy to take funds directly from my checking account to complete the refund instantly. This process would have taken 3-5 business days to process had I not agreed to do this. As you can see from my other reviews this situation is a complete outlier and did not transpire in such a dire and dramatic fashion as portrayed by Moria. ============================ Full text of the conversation with Outdoorsy (I would be happy to forward the email chain to anyone interested in the facts) : ============================ Joe (Outdoorsy) Hi Jeff, I hope this email finds you well! We're reaching out to the booking that was recently cancelled between yourself and Moira Crabtree. We note from the messages you exchanged that you would have been unable to facilitate this reservation, so under these circumstances Moira would be entitled to a full refund of the amount that she had paid. Unfortunately, as the reservation was then cancelled by Moira and not cancelled through your account, your Moderate Cancellation Policy caused you to be paid out $116.21 in error - we will need to reverse that payout from your bank account in order for Moira to be fully refunded. Please note that although the $116.21 has left us already, it can take up to 3 to 5 business days to be visible and available in your bank account. When we proceed with reversing the payout, $116.21 will be immediately deducted from your bank account - even if the payout hasn't yet posted to the account (so it's possible that you're bank account will be $116.21 down a few days, between us processing the reversal and the original payout being received). If you're happy for us to proceed with deducting that $116.21 from your account immediately in order to reverse the payout that has been sent, please reply to this email to let us know and we'll be happy to make those arrangements in order for Moira to be fully refunded straight away. If you need to wait a few days for the $116.21 to post to your bank account first, please reply to this email once the amount is visible in your account and let us know that it's safe to proceed with the reversal - we will then, with your consent, deduct that $116.21 from your account in order for Moira to be refunded. The weekend was a complete success and Jeff was very accommodating to the point he assisted with delivery and setup of the unit on site - something he didn't have to do but obviously he wanted to see the rental start smooth. I will rent again.
Jeff was super friendly and very accommodating. Setting up our site and picking up. I would highly recommend him and his camper.
