We rented Mr. Lillard's "Ole Girl" in mid-October of 2020 and it was an overwhelmingly positive experience. George was more than accommodating, responsive, easy to get a hold of, and was an absolute pleasure to meet and talk to. My wife, 2 year old and 4 year old daughters, now brother-in-law, and sister-in-law spent 9 days, 8 nights and about 2000 miles in George’s Winnebago which we referred to as "Ole Bessie". She is old, makes all sorts of noises rumbling down the highway, and has gained some quirks in her 30 years of life--all of this only added to our enjoyment of the trip. Bessie has character. She is a relic a time when of what RV's used to be--a functional vehicle designed to bring creature comforts to natural settings. She was a new RV in 1990, the year that Arnold Schwarzenegger graced the world with both Total Recall and Kindergarten Cop and while she has aged, George has done a great job in making sure that she has aged gracefully and well. As George said in his description, she is not a mobile 5-star hotel--but she is functional and has all of the comforts one would expect from a "cabin-in-the-woods" type of experience. During our time with Bessie, we had numerous people comment on how awesome she was, and we always had a chuckle when seeing her parked next to her $300,000 neighbors at our campsite. We depended on her to get us to a wedding in Chattanooga, TN with the Bride and Groom traveling with us and she delivered. We depended on her to provide us with an unforgettable and fun family vacation/adventure and she delivered there as well (and then some). Prior to our trip with Bessie, none of us had any RV experience whatsoever and did not have any problems—Bessie and her character taught us everything we needed to know (George helped too) to get everything working and where it needed to be. If you are looking for a “no frills” type of experience, consider having a bed, heater, shower, stove, oven, and air conditioning at a campsite luxuries and have always wanted to try the RV experience, I cannot recommend George and Ole Bessie enough!

We were a group of 4 friends, aged 28-32, none of us have any previous RV experience. We rented this RV, who we deemed 'Big Bertha' for a week. George is a great guy. When we picked up Bertha, George gave us a full run down of the RV - Where things are, how things work, what to do, what not to do, how to drive it, lights, electrics, gas, engine, etc. Everything was explained. Our trip was great. Full of laughs and stories to tell. Bertha is an old girl, and you should keep your expectations inline with that fact. There is rattling inside the cabin when you drive, but nothing that I would consider troublesome. We drove her from Houston to Terlingua, through Big Bend National Park, on to Marfa, and back to Houston. We had zero engine issues. One tire did blow but George answered all of my calls. We got it replaced quickly at a tire shop and George paid over the phone. We were rolling in no time. The 4 of us slept relatively comfortably. Back bed area has a pad on it which was sufficient for two of us. I'd bring a mattress pad for the front areas if you think you might require one, these beds are the normal RV seat cushions. The generator looks new, but our parks all had full hookups so we did not have to use it. George did show us how to start it though and there was no issue when he did that. The water pump has great pressure. AC works like a charm. When connected to 120v, the overhead AC is equally as good - we didn't need to use/try the heat. Highway travel should expect to get about 7 miles to the gallon. If you're looking for an affordable and good time with friends or the family, are capable of keeping the experience simple and aren't worried about luxury, this is a great option. Thank you, George. We had such a great time in Big Bertha!
