Just imagine being in Maui, Hawaii... • Camping on the beaches of Maui with a spacious rooftop tent that sets up in seconds! • Taking the Road to Hana then staying the night at the beautiful Waiʻanapanapa State Park! • Seeing the sunrise AND sunset at Haleakalā when you camp overnight at Hosmer Grove Campground! • Drive to the Pools of ‘Ohe’o (aka Seven Sacred Pools) then camp at Kīpahulu campground! ******** Where Can I Camp In Maui? ******** Being a camper car rental company, we are often asked, "Where can I camp in Maui?" That's a great question! If you are planning a camping trip to Maui, we can help! It's a good idea to have a basic plan on where you will stay, at least for the first night. Here is a short list of some of the places we would recommend checking out (we know of a lot more places too): Hosmer Grove Campgrounds - Haleakala National Park Many visitors will wake up at 2:00AM to make the long drive/tour up to the summit of Haleakala just to catch the sunrise. Others will arrive hours early to save a spot for the sunset show. However, only a few get to see both! This is just one of the many reasons to camp overnight at Hosmer Gove Campground. You can arrive mid-day and hike the trails of Haleakala then return to the summit to watch the sunset. In the morning you can awake to the spectacular sunrise! Park passes can be purchased at the entrance, currently $30.00. The park pass is good for 3 days so you have plenty of time to see all the sights including a sunrise AND sunset! Amenities: Drinkable Water, Car Access, Restrooms, Drive-up Camping Camp Olowalu "Beachfront camping in paradise." is how the folks at Camp Olowalu describe this tucked away camping site. Camp Olowalu makes for a great spot to spend your first night on Maui. Olowalu offers some of the best whale watching, snorkeling and kayaking all wrapped up in a great camp location. Amenities: Drinkable Water, Car Access, Cabins, Restrooms, Showers, Ice Machine Waiʻanapanapa State Park If you plan on taking the Road to Hana, consider staying in the area overnight. Waiʻanapanapa State Park is a great place to camp. This state park offers a remote, low-cliffed volcanic coastline with a famous black sand beach. We had Goldie for a week and took her to Hana and back. We had no trouble on any road and the roof tent was easy to set up. We were using the beach, kitchen and sleeping bag set with were all appropriate and clean. During nightly rains in Hana the hard top roof of the tent was a life saver. we'd totally choose Goldie again and also Tony is a really nice guy, as well as the whole Outdoorsy Team.

The car was great and the Roofnest was very comfortable. Furthermore Tony was really great. He took A LOT of time to give us tips for our Trip and to give us all the instructions for the car. I would book this car again and definetly recommend it.

Everything went smoothly with our reservation and the Jeep + Roofnest was exactly we had envisioned when booking with Campcar. Tony was great and very welcoming.

Zoe, Tony, and the Camp Car team were wonderful! I've been coming to Maui for 35 years. Exploring in Goldie was a really amazing way to rediscover the island with my boyfriend, who is new to both Maui and camping. He loved the rooftop tent (very exciting for me as a lifelong camper and backpacker) and we had a great time on Haleakala and down the road to Hana. The CampCar team was really helpful in planning our trip and introducing us to rooftop tent camping. Definitely will be coming back to rent from them again!

Tony’s answer

Aloha Anne!

Carl was so friendly and welcoming! He showed is many fantastic places to visit on the island and even provided a cooler, flash lights, towels, and squirt guns for our boys. As a family having the opportunity to camp and the roof top tent was a fun adventure that our boys really enjoyed. Our vehicle worked Great for our family.
