******** Where Can I Camp In Maui? ********
Being a camper car rental company, we are often asked, "Where can I camp in Maui?" That's a great question! If you are planning a camping trip to Maui, we can help! It's a good idea to have a basic plan on where you will stay, at least for the first night. Here is a short list of some of the places we would recommend checking out (we know of a lot more places too):
Hosmer Grove Campgrounds - Haleakala National Park
Many visitors will wake up at 2:00AM to make the long drive/tour up to the summit of Haleakala just to catch the sunrise. Others will arrive hours early to save a spot for the sunset show. However, only a few get to see both! This is just one of the many reasons to camp overnight at Hosmer Gove Campground. You can arrive mid-day and hike the trails of Haleakala then return to the summit to watch the sunset. In the morning you can awake to the spectacular sunrise! Park passes can be purchased at the entrance, currently $30.00. The park pass is good for 3 days so you have plenty of time to see all the sights including a sunrise AND sunset!
Amenities: Drinkable Water, Car Access, Restrooms, Drive-up Camping
Camp Olowalu
"Beachfront camping in paradise." is how the folks at Camp Olowalu describe this tucked away camping site. Camp Olowalu makes for a great spot to spend your first night on Maui. Olowalu offers some of the best whale watching, snorkeling and kayaking all wrapped up in a great camp location. Additionally, Camp Olowalu offers Cabins, Tentalows, Beach side Tent Camping and RV Parking (for CampCars).
Amenities: Drinkable Water, Car Access, Cabins, Restrooms, Showers, Beach Access
Camp Ke'anae (Ymca)
If you are looking for a place to make camp on your way to Hana or perhaps on your way back, look no further. The Ymca here offers an assortment of camping options, among the best Maui camping available! They offer cabins, cottages, suites and tent or campervan camping spots! Campervan spots are only $25/person or $40/family, per night!
Amenities: Drinkable Water, Car Access, Cabins, Restrooms, Showers, Ice Machine
Waiʻanapanapa State Park
If you plan on taking the Road to Hana, consider staying in the area overnight. Waiʻanapanapa State Park is a great place to camp. This state park offers a remote, low-cliffed volcanic coastline with a famous black sand beach. Waiʻanapanapa State Park offers an assortment of lodging options including; tent camping, cabins, and RV camping. You can also enjoy picnicking, shore fishing and hiking along Ke Ala Loa O Maui/Piilani Trail. Other features and sights to see include; blow holes, native hala forest, cave, heiau (religious temple) and natural stone arch.
Amenities: Drinkable Water, Car Access, Cabins, Restrooms, Showers, Beach Access

Really great place to rent. Nice and clean vehicules, very nice camping equipment and Tony is such a nice host he has been very helpful by taking the time to give us a detailed explantation of what is there to see in Maui on top of giving necessary tips for our stay on the island. We highly recommend Campcar and also if you read this and it’s not too late, make sure you reserve at least a few camping spots si ce they are quite fully booked once you get there.

The Jeep Wrangler with Roofnest tent was a great way to see Maui. We camped at Olowalu and at Waianapanapa. Just delightful. Highly recommended.
Tent setup demo was easy to follow. Cooler, beach towels, etc. were a nice touch.
Minor suggestion would be to demonstrate rain flap hookup as well.

It is beyond our expectations. It’s an amazing experience! We slept very comfortably and felt home in Jeep Wrangler. W would book the campervan with them! They communicated with us through texts well during our stay. I am very impressed with Tony, he has the patience to show us the demo of setting up pop-up tent at late night after our flight. It is smooth driving! It was so easy to set up the pop-up tent and take it down with the straps. However, if they repair the clips that other customer broke and have it installed new clips to the tent. It would be easier to close down instead of using the straps. Wish there are more choices of utensils such as tong, etc. Other than that, we enjoyed campervan and camping!

We had a great time with this Jeep! Tony was very responsive and easy to work with. He gave us a lot of ideas on places to travel on the island, which definitely enhanced our experience! The Jeep was in great condition and drove well. The pop-up tent was great as well and easy to use! I would highly recommend!
