The Great Outdoors

Dozens of enchanting state parks can be found throughout the area surrounding Hill & Hollow Campground. Just a few minutes' drive south near Pentwater, Mears State Park gives people a convenient place to enjoy Mother Nature, with spectacular views of Lake Michigan. Once owned by lumber baron Charles Mears, the land was donated to the state in 1923. Fishing, swimming, hiking, boating, and camping in the dunes of the state park make for quite the experience.Silver Lake State Park is just a few miles south of Mears State Park, with many of the same amenities and features. Known for its massive sand dunes lining Lake Michigan, Silver Lake State Park was also brought into existence thanks to the donation by Carrie Mears, the daughter of Charles Mears. In addition to camping out or swimming in Lake Michigan, you can go fishing, hunting, hiking, or off-roading on the sandy areas above the water.To the north by Ludington is Ludington State Park, a tantalizing nature park covering thousands of acres of waterfront land. Towering sand dunes, dense forests, and several other enchanting ecosystems populate the park, teeming with woodland wildlife in every direction. Hamlin Lake, the Big Sable River, and Lake Michigan combine to provide visitors places to swim, boat, kayak, or fish, and there's also a campground and a beach cafe on site.The largest wilderness area in the region can be found at Manistee National Forest, a sprawling, federally-maintained land to the north. More than a half-million acres are set aside for protection and recreation here, with large glacial lakes, rolling evergreen hills, sand dunes, and mountains. Skiing and snowboarding are options for those visiting in the wintertime, while camping, hiking, hunting, biking, and many other activities are possible throughout the year.

City Attractions

The cities of Grand Rapids and Muskegon are good destinations for sightseeing when you book an RV in Oceana County, though you won't need to drive your Pentwater motorhome rental that far to see some interesting places or attractions.Pentwater is a charming town just a few minutes' drive from your campsite at Hill & Hollow Campground and RV Park, with some great restaurants, stores, vineyards, and bars, among other things. History lovers will appreciate a visit to the Pentwater Historical Society Museum. For a small-town museum, this amazing resource sure packs a surprising amount of information into a small, old-fashioned church building. Knowledgeable volunteers can teach guests about the area, describing the story of Pentwater, a town once known for its brickmaking and logging industries.Over in Ludington, the Port of Ludington Maritime Museum captivates with a brilliant grouping of exhibits focusing on the region's maritime industry.Looking for a place to bring the youngsters on a rainy day? Sandcastles Children’s Museum is just the place. Climbing walls, model airplanes, hands-on exhibits, play spaces, and other kid entertainment options can be found at this fantastic spot where kids can mingle and play while learning about the world.You can also take your RV rental on a road trip to Grand Rapids if you seek more excitement, but everything you need can be found nearby when you're camping at Hill & Hollow Campground and RV Park.

What type of RV should I choose?

Start by determining how many people are planning to travel with you. Going on a solo-journey? Choose a camper van or a teardrop trailer. Bringing the whole family along for the ride? Consider a spacious Class A or five-wheel.

You’ll also want to consider amenities. For example, if you’re planning to cook on the road, you’ll want a kitchenette. If your campground doesn’t have public restrooms, you’ll want to search RVs with bathrooms. Check out full descriptions of our models to help you decide here.

Do the RVs have bathrooms?

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

How does check-in work?

A.

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
