The park borders Lake Michigan and is also home to the smaller Silver Lake. It is known for its off-roading area; there are sand dunes where you can ride ATVs freely. This is one of the only places to off-road in the Midwest on this kind of terrain. There's also a beach where you can relax or swim, hiking trails weaving through gently rolling terrain, and fishing in Silver Lake. Fishing here is only accessible from the shore, but you can hook bass, walleye, crappie, and more.North of the campground, you'll find the Pentwater River State Game Area, which is the closest place to go hunting. The entire game area is huntable land, and you may spot deer, turkey, and duck there. Hiking and cross-country ski trails run through the area. There is boat access to the Pentwater Lake at the northern edge of the park, and this is the closest access point to Lake Michigan from the campground. The trails at the game area are designed for foot traffic only, and bicycles aren't allowed. If you love biking, be sure to visit the Hart-Montague Bicycle Trail Park, which is just a few miles east of the campground. This is a 22-mile paved trail that is appropriate for biking as well as for snowmobiling and cross-country skiing in the winter. There are scenic overlooks and wildlife viewing points throughout the trail where you can stop and take in the natural beauty of Michigan.

Questions about RVs?

Q.

What type of RV should I choose?

A.

Start by determining how many people are planning to travel with you. Going on a solo-journey? Choose a camper van or a teardrop trailer. Bringing the whole family along for the ride? Consider a spacious Class A or five-wheel.

You’ll also want to consider amenities. For example, if you’re planning to cook on the road, you’ll want a kitchenette. If your campground doesn’t have public restrooms, you’ll want to search RVs with bathrooms. Check out full descriptions of our models to help you decide here.

Q.

Do the RVs have bathrooms?

A.

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

Q.

How does check-in work?

A.

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
