The Great Outdoors

For an afternoon in nature without much of a drive, look to Lee Park on the north end of town. They’ve got some excellent play equipment for the little ones and it’s a great spot for a picnic during your Columbus RV rental adventure. Columbus Propst Park on the southwestern edge is also a good choice; with a beautiful walking trail circling its grassy fields.

RV Parks

The low population density and largely rural character of eastern Mississippi means you should have no trouble finding a good RV park within driving distance of Columbus. Hidden Cove RV Park and Campground is just outside of town on the north side. With full hookups and waterfront sites, it makes a good option for staying in an RV rental near Columbus, and it’s close to Lion Hills Golf Course if you want to play a round or two.

Exploring the City

If you have even the slightest interest in architecture or historical homes, you’ll definitely need to take a tour of some of the more famous ones when renting a motorhome in Columbus. The home of playwright Tennessee Williams is one of the most popular attractions in town. While it no longer sits in its original location, the late 19th-century Victorian house is a treasure trove of artifacts associated with the man that penned “A Streetcar Named Desire” and “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof”. There are a few other interesting homes worth checking out in Columbus including Whitehall, Riverview, White Arches, and Rosedale.
