An ideal nature lover retreat nestled in the Pine Region of Mississippi is Okatibbee Lake, a large and beautiful expanse of water just a few miles northwest of the town of Meridian. With 25 miles of picturesque shoreline to enjoy, people come from all over the state and further afield to search for an RV in Lauderdale County. The lake was formed back in 1962 by the construction of the Okatibbee Dam. Okatibbee Lake was built on Okatibbee Creek by the U.S. Corps of Engineers, mainly for flood control and drinking water, but today it is also widely used for recreation.
