The owners were friendly people. They park their RV in a field. When we arrived to pick up, he helped my husband hook up the hitch. It was different from what we were accustomed to. They showed us the inside and some damage that was done to the outside by previous renters. The damage did cause issues with opening and closing the door. I broke some fingernails trying to get inside because the handle was so tight, then I figured out just to twist my hand and use my thumb to pry open the door. Once inside, I had to slam it shut. I texted them about the door. I also texted them about the cleanliness and showed them pictures of the dirty cloths from wiping and sweeping. They said their grass was cut earlier that day and asked if any of the windows were left open going down the road. One was open next to the kitchen and both hatches were left open by the owners. They were apologetic, but I do not feel that the amount of cleaning we had to do came from cutting grass and taking the camper 30 miles away. My husband and I were grossed out about this and wondered if the linens had even been washed. We only used their sheets and about 3 hand towels because there was grit all over the bedroom comforter, couch, dinette, cups and plates(even though they were inside the cabinet) and rolled up towels in the bathroom.
When we were setting up at the campsite, the septic hose was all taped up with duct tape, but thankfully it didn't leak. We found some weird jacks in the storage area and figured out they were for the slide out. We had to guess how to use them properly because we were not shown. We also noticed there were 2 gray tanks indicators and the red lights indicated everything including the septic was 3/4 full. We had recently been told by other campers not to trust those indicators because they are usually wrong anyway - thus we used the black and gray tank as we knew how to do from owning a smaller camper. We assumed the 2nd gray tank was for boon docking and there would not be a need to "dump" it since we did not fill it with fresh water, but when the owners said they were going to charge us $100 for not dumping the tanks, we simply didn't even attempt to empty the 2nd tack since we were certain we hadn't used it. We returned the camper forgetting to drain the hot water tank. It indeed slipped our mind. The owner's stressed that they had circled that "tanks" were to be emptied upon return. Maybe next time they could indicate: "2 gray tanks, 1 septic tank and 1 hot water heater tank"- like be more specific. We only used our camper 4 times before selling it because it was too small. Renting was an opportunity to see if we wanted to buy a bigger camper. Not only do we hate camping now, but we will NEVER rent again either. Other people's standards are NEVER our own, and communication is often misunderstood when dealing with strangers. Campers are cheaply made and require constant upkeep - see the pantry door hinge picture. My husband didn't want me to let them know how dirty it was because he didn't want to be seen as a trouble maker. Then we were told that we should have been honest upon booking that we had a dog. I never saw a check box for that - so honest mistake. Lord knows, I never tried to hide the dog, but they didn't mention a fee until after we returned the camper. They wanted to waive the fee - but Outdoorsy said no which is fine, but my integrity was in question and I was offended.
We are still left up in the air if there was water in the 2nd gray tank. The owners stopped talking to us and said to talk to Outdoorsy for further discussion. How do we do that?? What were the final fees?? We gave a $500 deposit and got back a little over $50 for 3 nights at $79 per night. Did we get charged a cleaning fee because trust me, we brought it back cleaner than we got it. When my husband asked the owner where the cable for the TV was located, he said, "Oh, it's over there in the drawer." We never found it, and in what drawer?? Again, we didn't complain or text them because we didn't want to be pests. Maybe a few lessons can be learned for all concerned parties. Don't take for granted that previous camper owners are going to know and understand the full expectations unless fully shown and fully explained.

We had a wonderful time on our trip! We are pretty new to RVing and didn’t know what to expect exactly. But we found that setting up and taking down the trailer was easier than we thought it would be. The owners gave us all the instructions we needed and it was really seamless. The trailer itself was beautiful, it was clean, it smelled great, everything worked as it should, it felt like a wonderful special little luxurious camping experience. We made great memories as a family and we would definitely love to rent this trailer from the owners again. The owners are kind, helpful, informative and great at communication, very responsive. We would recommend this trailer without any reservation whatsoever, it’s really a sweet trailer and it’s a lot of fun!
