This moderately-sized town sits in the rural, northwest corner of the state. It is situated less than 20 miles south of the Colorado state line, and less than 50 miles east of the border with Arizona. The much larger city of Albuquerque is located over 150 miles to the southeast.

Throughout the area, you will find plenty of breweries, museums, art galleries and numerous shops featuring the wares of the local American Indian tribes.
