Camping at Badin Lake
Those RV camping at Badin Lake have a handfull of campgrounds to choose from, both near the lake and within a short drive of the lake. ‘Whip-O-Will Campground’ is located on the northern shore of Badin Lake and is the ideal RV camping site. Full hookups are provided here, including 20, 30, 50 amp electric, water, and sewer. Facilities include flushing toilets, a shower block, a dump station, and picnic tables. Pets are also welcome at the Whip-O-Will Campground but must be kept on a leash at all times.

Badin Lake is an hour’s drive from the city of Charlotte, one of North Carolina’s most populous cities, and a city home to a wide range of day trips and sight-seeing opportunities. Those with a keen interest in history should not pass up an opportunity to visit ‘The Charlotte Museum of History.’ The museum has an array of exhibitions and displays that showcase the history of the area throughout the past centuries. The centerpiece of the museum is the pieces telling the story of Charlotte’s Carolina Backcountry and the pre-revolution era of North Carolina. Visitors will have a more in-depth knowledge of the role Charlotte and North Carolina played in the history of the nation.
