Badin Lake lies in central North Carolina, equal distance between the towns and cities of Charlotte, Greensboro, and Winston-Salem. Badin Lake was created with the damming and impounding of the Yadkin-Pee Dee River in 1917. The lake was originally constructed to provide hydroelectric power to the nearby Aluminum Company of America. Badin Lake’s close proximity and easy access from many of North Carolina’s major cities make it the ideal place to take an RV rental. Campers here can immersive themselves into nature and forget about the hustle and bustle of city life for a while. Camping with an RV is also super simple, as Stanly County is home to several great RV camping grounds.
