When is the last time you did something for the first time?
Our Westy is encouraging you to step away from cruising on auto-pilot through your daily routine and inviting you to get into our driver’s seat where new experiences will bring you excitement and adventure. Feel a sense of aliveness as you explore our own backyard and immerse yourself in Mother Nature’s beauty.
We have enjoyed many days on the road in our vans and we want to give you the opportunity to see what we see and feel what we feel.
Our vans are driven and maintained on a regular basis. The Volkswagen Westfalia campervans are in their 30’s (that’s 60 in human years) and are meant for slow-rolling travel, reminding you it’s about the journey, and not the destination. We recommend driving this van not more than 400kms per day and to drive at a max of 100km/hr. These are manual transmissions and require experience with a stick shift. Please note our vans are not able to accommodate child car seats.
The van sleeps 4 and has a kitchenette with a 2-burner gas stove, sink and fridge. It is equipped with cooking essentials. The pop-top roof has a skylight and extra bed. There is decent cabinet space, rotating front seats, a dining table, electric hook ups, propane tank, and privacy curtains.
Last but not least, in sharing the van life and open roads with you, we honour our late brother Michael, who journeyed for 8 years with brain cancer. He lived with a huge spirit of seeking adventure and explored our Canadian landscape and beyond. He reached miles, both in width and in height and his life was expansive and rich because of what he chose to make of it. He was a true inspiration and modelled kindness, bravery, resilience, humility and demonstrated the power of the human mind and what we are capable of. Other things to note
𝐎𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫'𝐬 𝐑𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐬, 𝐓𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 (rules in no particular order):
• No traveling to the US is allowed with this vehicle.
• No Driver's under 25.
• Renters named on the booking reservation need to be present in person for pick-up and drop-off.
• We require Renters to be verified through Outdoorsy's "Driver Verification process" within 7 days of us accepting a booking request. If for some reason Outdoorsy declines you as a "Verified Driver", they will refund your deposit in full.
• No climbing or sitting on the Westfalia Roof. Fiberglass top is not strong to support a person on top.
• No Towing allowed.
• No Smoking or Vaping of Any Substance - A $500 fumigation penalty will be charged if any Smoking or Vaping whatsoever, takes place in or near Westfalia.
• Late Return Penalty – If the Westfalia is handed back late on the day of return, a $15 penalty will be applied for each 15 minute period beyond the agreed upon return deadline.
• The Full Interior of the Westfalia must be handed back clean otherwise a minimum penalty of $100 will be applied.
• If we receive any Notices for (speeding tickets, parking fines, toll charges or any other violations, offenses, incidents, or charges, etc.) incurred during the Renter's period of rental, then we will charge the renter an admin fee of $75 plus postage costs per Notice, for forwarding such paperwork to the Renter or relevant Authority.
• Renters should allow at least 60 mins on the day of pickup for Signing Paperwork, a detailed RV Overview, and Driver Orientation. The earliest pick-up is 11:00 am on the day of pickup, so Renters can arrive as early as 9:30 am for the Paperwork, Overview, and Orientation. Renters should also allow at least 30mins to hand back the day of returning the Westfalia.
• At the time of pickup, Renters will be required to show their valid Driving License., we retain a photocopy for record-keeping. Renters will also be required to sign a hard copy of our listing together with the Rules, Terms & Conditions.

Notre expérience à été extraordinaire avec ce Westfalia et les bons conseils de Arno et Paula. Vraiment gentils et accommodants. Ils ont pensé à tout. Ce déplacer avec ce véhicule a été le gros coup de coeur de notre voyage. Plaisant a conduire,Facile à stationner, économe et tellement pratique .

The rental was amazing and how can you beat seeing the national parks of Banff and Jasper in a Westfalia! Arno was awesome giving us a walk through and checking on us throughout the trip. The only thing I couldn’t figure out was the fridge to switch to propane. We really didn’t need it in the end, so no worries for us! No issues and the owners gave us their pass to use for our trip, would definitely rent again!
