Just a few miles east of Corvallis lies the small town of Tangent, OR. This humble little city is made up of mostly farmland, but make no mistake, there's a whole lot going on around here. The unusual name of this town came from the railway that it sits on. The long 20-mile stretch of the nearby city of Albany is completely straight without any curves or turns at all. Being that Tangent is right on the railway, there's plenty of fun history to research in the area. At about 187 miles long, the Willamette River in Oregon is one of the most beautiful rivers in the state. Rent an RV in Tangent and check it out with only a few minutes' drive. One of the more unique experiences in Corvallis is Brad's World Reptiles. There are all kinds of reptiles to see here, from lizards to snakes and even alligators. If you visit at the right time, you might be able to catch a live show or an event. Don't worry though, there are always exhibits to view and tours to take. It might not be your typical zoo, but it's certainly not a visit that you'll forget.
Up in Albany, OR, you can find the Albany Regional Museum. It has many of the typical museum exhibits you might expect to find, such as the history of the area and the medals that the city has been awarded. One of the not-so-typical exhibits at the museum is the 1920's-1940's era kitchen. It's a real kitchen set up to look exactly how they used to look during this time in history. You can also view the Hale Deluxe Shoe Shine exhibit which tells the story of a man who opened his own business back in 1939.
