There are also over 18 miles of trails that will take hikers through the park's various habitats. This state park is situated right next to the Schuylkill Highlands and covers over 7,000 acres of forest. This park is well known as being one of the largest blocks of forest on the east coast. There are two lakes in this park, Hopewell Lake and Scotts Run Lake. Hopewell is the largest and is a popular spot for swimming and boating. Anglers will enjoy both the lakes, and catches include trout, northern pike, and bass. Hiking is also popular here, and there are over 35 miles of trails that lead through forests, wetlands, and by the lakes.If you're looking to explore a bit more of Pennsylvania, consider a trip to Swatara State Park. This park is situated between two mountains and covers over 3,000 acres of woodlands and hills in the Pennsylvania wilderness. There are over 18 miles of trails in this park which are well managed and consist mainly of dirt, gravel, or paved paths. The trails are generally easy and perfect for a leisurely stroll. While walking, keep an eye out for the park's bird population, which includes wrens, bluebirds, and hawks. Swatara Creek is also a good fishing spot for smallmouth bass and panfish.

Anybody camping near Denver will want to visit Philadelphia. Philadelphia has some great attractions, including the Philadelphia Museum of Art. This world-class museum features over 200,000 different objects, from American to European to Asian art. There's a massive array of pieces, including textiles, photography, and glasswork. Some of the highlights from the museum include work by the likes of Marcel Duchamp, Vincent van Gogh, and Salvador Dali.Another great attraction in Philadelphia is the Philadelphia Zoo. If you're looking for some spooky history, consider a trip to Eastern State Penitentiary. This now-defunct prison was once one of the best known in the country. Despite being abandoned, the prison is now open to tours seven days a week and includes exhibits on famous inmates, such as the legendary Al Capone. Many say Eastern State is haunted and has been the subject to many paranormal investigations, so make sure to keep an eye out for anything supernatural during the tour.
