We have been home since Tuesday the 29th of June. I have let the owner know that we've returned and he still has not come to pick up the van. We also noted that the inside back door of the van lists it as
a 1992 and not a 2006 as listed by Mr Hunter Carrigan. The drivers side vent of the vehicle was broken and the air conditioning was spotty at best in the Arizona heat. We ended up having to turn off the air conditioning and roll the windows down as all that was coming out of the vents was hotter than the outside air. The engine light came on as we reached our original destination and I spent a half day of my vacation waiting to have the brakes blead and the throttle cleaned. Mr Carrington did reimburse me for having this work done. I will be very upset if I am charged for additional days as he knows I asked for delivery and pick-up of the vehicle.

Hunter’s answer

Hey Paulette, of course you won’t be charged for extra days. I simply haven’t had time to make it out to you to pick it up.

THE VAN WAS HOT AS HELL!! Literally almost killed my friend’s dog. To make matters worse the owner was AWARE OF THE AIR CONDITIONING FAILURE!! I feel like we were ripped off. The headlights were so dim we had to drive with the high beams and they were not much help either. The gear shift didn't work (we had to guess which gears we were in). The battery light flashed the entire trip so we had no idea what was going on with that. The van itself produced heat from the floors up so whenever the air did decide to work it was only blowing on the driver and passenger seats. The handles on the van are awful so beware of windy roads. If I could give Zero stars I would. This van was not fun to drive or be cooked in. Like literally, COOKED!!

Hunter’s answer

A couple things, Cracelyn.
I’m sorry the van got so hot for you guys. Although, saying I was aware of the AC failure is inaccurate. I do my best to make sure the van is in great condition for every renter, and I take it to get serviced and checked out before every departure. A few days before you picked it up I had a family return it after a 3 week road trip and I had no complaints from them, so I apologize that it was on your trip the AC decided to have such an issue. It’s in the shop being repaired right now.
As far as the lights and the gear shifter, those are also being fixed, but this is the nature of an older van. Things break or perform poorly, then you repair them.
As far as the handles, the van handles wonderfully. This simply tells me you didn’t know what you were getting into and didn’t know how to drive a very large vehicle.
You rented through Outdoorsy, an app for outdoor, recreational, and often times, rugged vehicles. It sounds like you should’ve rented a brand new vehicle, but didn’t because of budget and because I offer unlimited miles.
I will end by saying, for the months leading up to your trip, I was available at all times, answering all questions, and attempted to be as helpful as possible. I know the phrase “the customer is always right”, but I’m not of that opinion when you’re damaging my reputation and a part of my income with which I feed my children, and leaving an unfair and inaccurate review.

The van did it's job, comfortably drove my family (3 kids, 3 adults and 2 senior citizens) to Breckenridge and back. Van was able to handle the snow just fine. Hunter is super nice and communicative, very easy to work with!

Excellent service save a lot of money because previous rentals canceled my reservations on the last day. Thanks I find outdoorsy because I have 14 guests going to skiing trip all teens and only to adults with drivers licenses.
