Discover Lake Travis RV rentals for memorable road trips

The Colorado River winds itself through the heart of Texas. As this river flows between the cities of Austin and Round Rock its crashing current is stopped by the Mansfield Dam, that creates a reservoir known as Lake Travis. The construction of the dam and Lake Travis was undertaken in 1942. With thirty square miles of surface area, Lake Travis has the highest storage capacity of all of the Highland Lakes. Lake Travis is a perfect location to rent an RV and escape the hectic local cities of Austin and Georgetown, but still close enough to for city day trips with your Austin camper rental.

A wide variety of fish call this lake home, including largemouth bass, Guadalupe bass, catfish and sunfish. Largemouth bass fishing is most successful in the summer months. Lake Travis is surrounded by small coves, rocky outcrops, and sunken logs, ideal environments for catching and landing that next big fish. Whether you fish from Lake Travis's two hundred miles of shoreline or take a boat out on to its picturesque waters, fishing here is an experience not to be missed.

Camping At Lake Travis

Camping at Lake Travis is simple enough for those wishing to do so. La Hacienda RV Resort is the perfect place as it is located on the Hudson Bend, right on the shores of Lake Travis. All sites are easy to navigate and accommodate the biggest of rigs. Full hookups are provided, along with high-speed WiFi and even cable TV.

One of these places is the captivating Blanton Museum Of Art. Blanton is one of the largest university art museums in the whole of the country. With 189,340 square feet devoted to temporary exhibitions and permanent collection galleries, there is something for everyone. This is our second year with Anthony, and yet again, Anthony had everything set up for us and went over the water and power so we knew what buttons to push/avoid. : ) Everything was spotless, and we had everything we needed for a perfect weekend! Prompt communication and an overall incredible host and home.

I’m not exaggerating when I say renting ScarJo was perhaps the best experience I’ve had with Outdoorsy in my many years of using the app. The renter Sam was incredibly kind, responsive, and accommodating throughout the entire process. It’s clear he’s spent a lot of time in that van himself and has dialed in the amenities like a well oiled machine. Absolutely everything we could have needed was anticipated, provided for, and in great working condition. The beds in particular were both spectacularly comfy, and the whole place felt far more roomy and luxurious than I would have expected from a van of its size. We stayed in it for 3 nights but could have comfortably lived in there for months. Can’t recommend it highly enough. Thanks again Sam, you are a legend!

We had an absolute blast on our first RV trip! We cannot recommend renting from Macie & Ray enough. They were so thorough and accommodating to us as we ventured out on our first family road trip. The RV was spacious, clean, state of the art, and had everything we could possibly need--even things we hadn't thought of! They truly did an excellent job outfitting their rig, and were more than happy to answer any questions we had along the way. 10/10, this definitely will not be our last trip with them.
