Getting Outdoors

The calm waters of Cleveland Lake are perfect for fishing. Anglers come here from all around the state to enjoy the crisp mountain air and relax while waiting for the fish to bite. It has a large population of cutthroat and rainbow trout. The Division of Wildlife Resources maintains and restocks the lake regularly. Cleveland Lake is located high in the mountains, and there are no bait shops up there. You should have all of your fishing equipment ready in your RV rental because you will not be able to buy it at Cleveland Lake.

Camping at Cleveland Lake

Lake Cleveland Campground is divided into east and west parts. The east part of the campground is suitable for RVs and can accommodate long vehicles. There are only 17 sites, and visitors can reserve only seven of them in advance. The campground is a favorite among the locals who come here during spring and summer. Unfortunately, heavy snowfall prevents campers from staying here in winter. The campground doesn’t have full hookups, but it offers other amenities that will make your stay here in a rental RV quite pleasant.

Exploring the Area

Fairview is a small community that will win you over quickly with its charm and quirkiness. When you are RV camping at Cleveland Lake, a short visit to Fairview could be incredibly fun because there are plenty of things to see in this town. If you love history and want to find out more about the area, start your tour at the Fairview Museum of History and Art. The museum is located downtown, and visitors can easily find it. The permanent collection has hundreds of artifacts, documents, and photographs that tell a story of Fairview’s rich past. The Natural History Building is right next to the museum, and inside visitors can see a full-sized Colombian Mammoth. It is a replica of a mammoth that was unearthed in the nearby mountain range.

Michael was amazing. He did a complete walkthrough, was flexible with pickup and drop off, and was very friendly and offered to answer any questions we had about the van while we were traveling. The TimTam van was great as well. We never ran out of power from the huge lithium ion battery, were able to fit into normal parking spaces, and slept comfortably on the plush mattress every night!
