Getting Outdoors

Avid golfers from across the country visit Wasatch Mountain State Park and its pristine golf courses. Motorhome camping at the park ensures you're right on time for your early morning tee off. Many golfers claim the Lake Course is a bit easier than the other courses. However, it does have several short par-five holes that require more accurate tee shots to keep clear of the trees along the fairway. The Mountain Course was previously voted the best place to play. Visitors can relax at the Wasatch Mountain Clubhouse or shop at the pro shop.

Another great activity for outdoor enthusiasts is skiing at Wasatch Mountain State Park. In 2002, the park hosted the Olympic Winter Games at Soldier Hollow. During the winter months, visitors can ski down the same slopes where Olympic athletes once competed. Soldier Hollow offers tubing and cross-country skiing in the winter along with a summer and winter biathlon. Pack your skis in your rental RV and stay for a week of fun on the slopes. Check with the park office about rental ski equipment if you're new to the sport or just want to give it a try.

Camping with an RV at Wasatch Mountain State Park is a great way to spend time off-highway vehicle or OHV riding through the 30 miles of roads and trails that crisscross the park. Riders also have access to an additional 30 miles of trails through adjacent USDA Forest Service lands. Lofty Peaks, a part of Wasatch Mountain State Park, offers guided tours and rental OHVs, or you can explore on your own. Be watchful for pedestrians when on the trails.
