Dugway is in Tooele County, Utah. It is a closed city because it exists entirely within Dugway Proving Ground, a U.S. Army testing facility; the only roads into or out of the city pass through military checkpoints. Civilian personnel on the base live in an area referred to as “English Village”; non-resident civilians must apply in advance for permission to enter the base. The term “Dugway” refers to a technique used to keep wagons from tipping over on hillsides. A small trench is dug into the hillside, which accommodates the wheels on one side of the wagon.

The Great Outdoors

Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest is a popular destination for hiking and cycling, hunting and fishing, and many other activities. The preserve is also home to the Timpanogos Cave National Monument, a series of three limestone caves accessible from one of the trails. There is also a skydiving school that offers tandem dives with trained instructors; visitors are put through a short video and training exercise before heading up into the sky. Diego was very nice and answered all my questions. Unfortunately, several issues with the trailer resulted in lower stars. The toilet did not work properly, the batteries did not hold a charge and the sway bars had some electrical issues.
