Getting Outdoors

Before renting an RV and heading up to Lost Creek Reservoir, be sure to get your fishing licenses sorted out so that you run into no trouble with local law enforcement. Since the reservoir is publicly owned, fishing licenses are necessary, but luckily they are easily obtainable from a large number of locations throughout the state. When you have your license, you’ll be able to enjoy both boat and shore fishing. There are a variety of fish to catch, including brown trout, Utah chub, cutthroat trout, crawdads, rainbow trout, tiger trout, and splake trout.

Camping at Lost Creek Reservoir

There are two nearby campground options when you want to spend time camping with an RV near Lost Creek Reservoir. The nearer of the two is a state park RV campground that belongs to Lost Creek State Park. This campground is extremely primitive, with pit toilets, no hookups, and little to no amenities. However, this campground does surround you with gorgeous natural features and gives you the opportunity to walk to the reservoir whenever you please.

Exploring the Area

Lost Creek Reservoir is moderately secluded in the gorgeous mountains, but there are still towns within driving distance when you desire a trip into town. One of the closest and most convenient towns to head to is across the Wyoming border, the town of Evanston. This small town is home to the Uinta County Museum, which has a lot of interesting exhibits about the local history, in regard to both human and natural development. Evanston is also a great place to go when looking to grab a bite out to eat.
