Marsh Lake is part of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest in Summit County, a highly elevated region so named because it includes 39 of Utah’s tallest mountain peaks.

The surrounding forest offers 2.1 million acres of spectacular wilderness scenery. Marsh Lake is also not far from upscale urban settings like Salt Lake City. Getting Outdoors

Whether you’re in the mood for fishing, boating, or swimming, there are all kinds of opportunities for water recreation with a rental motorhome at Marsh Lake. This is an ideal place to take a dip in the refreshing mountain water. Should you prefer to launch out in small watercraft, head to the west side of the lake to access a boat ramp and spend a leisurely day paddling around with a canoe, kayak, or paddleboard.

Anglers will find fishing docks that extend from both sides of the boat ramp. Find a tranquil spot, cast a line for rainbow and cutthroat trout, and lounge as you wait for the catch of the day. Moose, deer, birds, and other creatures frequent the area and make their home around the lake, so make sure to pack binoculars and a camera in your travel trailer and enjoy some fantastic viewing of local wildlife.

Lace-up your hiking boots or hop on a bike or horse and set out exploring the magnificent terrain. Camping at Marsh Lake

The Marsh Lake Campground provides a number of single and double sites (some with prime lakefront views) for tent and RV camping. Sites come equipped with a utility table, picnic table, and a grill campfire ring. There are currently no electrical, water, or sewer hookups here, but amenities at this location do include accessible sites, drinking water, vault toilets, trash collection, and a dump station is available close to the campground.

Marsh Lake campers staying here will also have access to a boat ramp, parking area, and an on-site host, not to mention the natural splendor of the lake and landscape. The area surrounding the campground features a forest of aspen, ponderosa pine, and lodgepole pine trees, which provide partial shade on sunny days. The peak season for camping here tends to be early June through early October. Summer is a great time of year to enjoy the wildflowers and grasses that spread throughout the campground.

Exploring the Area

After you’ve had some time to rejuvenate in nature, hop in your new Summit County camper rental and seek out some of this region’s cultural attractions. Marsh lake is 24 miles south of Mountain View, WY. This town is a perfect place to pull over for a pick-me-up from a cafe or to stroll around a friendly community.
