The community is sandwiched between the Wasatch Mountains to the east and the Great Salt Lake to the west. The town began as a simple railway stop and a few shops near Interstate 15 and slowly accumulated more people as time went on. With Salt Lake City rapidly expanding, it was only natural for the surrounding towns to become more prosperous.
