Let's start with a few questions to narrow down your options.
Settlement Canyon Reservoir is a manmade lake located in Tooele County, Utah. The lake is named for the canyon, and the canyon is thus named for Americans in the early 19th century who settled there. Before the Americans arrived, the Salt Lake Valley was occupied largely by Goshute Native Americans. In 1847, contingents of Mormons arrived in Tooele Valley. They grazed their cattle near Settlement Canyon and hunted on lands claimed by the Goshute. Years of strife resulted.
