Vermont is a favorite among outdoor enthusiasts thanks to the stunning Green Mountains that run along its spine and the beautiful lakes and rivers that flow from them. When getting a travel trailer rental in Townshend, you’ll definitely want to block out a few days to enjoy nature. Townshend State Park is just outside the city limits and has a few campsites, excellent swimming in the West River, and even better fishing if you’ve got the proper state license. Its location near Brattleboro, one of the larger towns in southern Vermont, makes this a good place to consider if you want access to urban amenities.
Exploring the City
Townshend is quite small, and Vermont’s towns are in proximity to each other, so be prepared to take some road trips if you want to see all the attractions this region has to offer. For a taste of the arts, head up to the town of Jamaica, which has a number of interesting galleries including the Elaine Beckwith and Hot Glass Works glassblowing museum.
