Pathfinder Reservoir sits on the North Platte River in the state of Wyoming and is a perfect escape for a weekend motorhome camping trip. The construction of the Pathfinder Dam, between 1905 and 1909, was considered a major engineering feat and is now part of the National Register of Historic Places. Restrooms, showers, and laundry facilities are available also. There’s a swimming pool to relax in and a play area for kids. A camp store is available should you need any camping essentials.

Another option to consider if you wish to park your RV rental at Pathfinder Reservoir is the Fort Caspar Campground, about an hour away. The campground has over 100 campsites, equipped with amenities like pull-thru sites, big rig access, full hookups, 30 and 50 amp electric service, sewer, water, WiFi and cell phone coverage. Restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, and a camp store are available too. The kids will enjoy the playground while you can explore the walking trails.

Exploring the Area

Another interesting place to visit is the Fort Casper Museum which takes you back in time to explore the history of Fort Casper.
