So grab a glass of warm cider, rent a campervan or Class C that fits the whole family, and head to Halloween-themed festivals until your fall fix is properly satiated.

La Union Corn Maze — Anthony, New Mexico

When: September 25-November 7

Where to camp: El Paso West / Anthony KOA, TX

Get blissfully lost in a magical 15-acre maze. And while the maze is the main attraction, all members of the family can get in the Halloween spirit with haunted pallet mazes, pumpkin patches, live music, tube slides, a mini zipline, and a “surprise activity” newly added in 2019.

Where to camp: Harold Parker Campground

A perfect combination of beautiful New England color and season-long festivities focused on the scary side of Halloween. For the entire month of October, Salem comes alive with ghost tours, haunted houses, the Salem Witch Museum, family film nights, and plenty of trick-or-treating hijinks. One day is never enough to get the full Salem experience.

Where to camp: Croton Point Park, Beaver Pond State Park

When Halloween comes to town, the Hudson Valley village of Sleepy Hollow is anything but sleepy. Find something for everyone with an endless array of haunted hayrides, gothic mansions, blazing jack-o-lanterns, cemetery tours, farmers markets, street fairs, live music, parades—and even the Headless Horseman himself.

Where to camp: Louisville North Campground

Celebrating its 9th year in 2019, this Halloween spectacular features 5,000 carved pumpkins and a ⅓-mile walking trail that transforms into an illuminated art show as soon as the sun sets on Iroquois State Park. The event runs from dusk to 11 pm Sunday through Thursday, and dusk to midnight on Friday and Saturday nights.

Where to camp: Two Rivers State Recreation Area

Open 7-days a week in October only, this throw-back pumpkin patch features all the Halloween classics like hayrides, haunted farmhouses, pony rides, and corn mazes. But it also sports unconventional fan-favorites like blacklight paintball shootouts and “apple blasters” that let sharp-shooting visitors test their skills firing apples at an array of outdoor targets.
