Since Ken's Lake Campground is located in a well-known area, most people have no issues getting there. Conveniently, the roads that lead to Ken's Lake Recreation Site are designed for large vehicles such as RVs or trucks pulling trailers. The majority of roads leading to the recreation site are paved and well-maintained.
The closer you get to Ken's Lake Campground and recreation site, the roads then become gravel. Ken's Lake Recreation Site is located just off of Road 175. Turn onto Kens Lake Campground Road and you've arrived. At this point, You can park the RV and start exploring. The majority of exploring Ken's Lake Recreation Site is done on foot, mountain bike, or horseback.
There are many established trails in the area that make it incredibly easy to get around. Cell phone reception is fairly good in the area so you won't have to worry about getting lost or being without a navigation system as long as you have a GPS. Be sure to check for any road closures or detours before your trip begins to prevent any last-minute issues.

First-come first-served
Ken's Lake Campground
Ken's Lake Campground has 31 campsites available for both RV and tent campers. It sits at an elevation of just over 5,000 feet. Each campsite has a picnic table and grill available for your convenience. The campground also has vault toilets and trash receptacles throughout. There is no running water or drinking water available. Campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Campers are limited to a 14-day stay per 30 day period.
Camping there will allow you to be surrounded by the rolling hills of the Moab area of Utah. People who have stayed there in the past rave about the large space for their airstream or RV. Ken's Lake Campground is exceptionally clean and enforces the No Trace Left Behind Act. Campers are encouraged to clean up after themselves to help preserve the area. You can take a short stroll down a path to reach Ken's Lake if you need to cool off in the summer.
Williams Bottom Campground
William's Bottom Campground is a popular place for rock climbers to catch some sleep while visiting Ken's Lake Recreation Site. It is just 15 minutes from downtown Moab and offers campsites on a first-come, first-served basis. There are 17 campsites in total. Both tent and RV campers are encouraged to stay there. There are no water or RV hookups available. The campsite does offer toilets as well as trash receptacles.
People enjoy staying here for the numerous amount of both day and evening activities that you can enjoy. Some of the more popular are mountain biking, photography, and rock climbing. The stars shine extra bright at William's Bottom Campground due to the lack of pollution. It's also located conveniently close to Arches National Park. If you're looking for somewhere to stay that is more than just a place to rest your head, William's Bottom Campground is a great choice.
Taylors Campground
Lastly, Taylor's campground is an amazing place to stay while visiting Ken's Lake Recreation Site. This campground offers vaults toilets and has campsites marked with stakes. It is important to note in order to stay at Taylor's Campground, you must have a permit. Take it from the many people who have stayed there before, getting the permit is worth it. The campground offers spots available on a first-come, first-served basis.
It is the perfect camping area for those looking for peace and quiet. This is more of a primitive camping area, as there are no RV hookups or modern amenities. It is suggested that you bring your own water as there is none in the area. Many campers come to Taylor's Campground specifically for stargazing. During the day you can enjoy a hike or some wildlife viewing. Either way, this is a beautiful and remote place to park the RV to get some rest.

In-Season
Hiking
Hiking is a great way to get some exercise in when visiting Ken's Lake Recreation Site. This is the perfect activity to do before hopping in the lake. There are plenty of trails in the area or you could take a casual stroll around the lake. If you are interested in the more strenuous trails, it is advised that you bring your own pair of hiking boots. On your hike, you'll see a variety of different types of vegetation and maybe a wild animal or two.
Mountain Biking
If you're traveling with an adrenaline junkie or you are one yourself, mountain biking can be the perfect activity for you to take part in when visiting Ken's Lake Recreation Site. There are a variety of different terrain types available for you to bike on, ranging from level gravel paths to rocky steep hills. Be sure to bring safety gear such as a helmet in the event that you decide to hit the more intense trails.
Rock Climbing
Many people visit this area of Utah for the rock climbing that's available. Ken's Lake Recreation Site offers plenty of rock climbing for the novice and expert climbers. It is required that you bring your own rock climbing gear, as there is nowhere nearby that rents it out to travelers. Once you reach the top of the rock formation that you're climbing, you will have a unique view of the recreation site. This is the perfect summer activity!

There are plenty of animals to see around Ken's Lake Recreation Site. Some of the more popular animals are desert bighorn sheep, mule deer, and mountain lions. Of course, the lake itself offers plenty of different fish. If you're lucky, you might get a chance to see a desert tortoise or a Gila monster.
