Michael M. & Claudia Yatsevitch Forest

Location: Cornish, NH

Acreage: 800 acres

Protected: 1995

Directions: Take I-89 N to Exit 20 for Route 12A to Plainfield. Turn left at lights on exit ramp. Continue South on 12A for about 6 miles. Take left turn onto Stage Rd. Go 2 miles; road will curve sharply to the left. Turn right on Hell Hollow Rd. You will cross over a brook. Continue on Hell Hollow Rd. approximately 1 mile to "Y" intersection. Bear left, then travel about 1 mile to junction. Park in field straight ahead, just to right.

George & Emily H. Marks Memorial Forest

Location: Alton, NH

Acreage: 236 acres

Protected: 1994

Directions: From Rotary at junction of Rts. 28 & 11, head South on Route 11 for 3.8 miles. Turn left at flashing light (Depot Rd.). Go 0.4 mile to Main St. and turn left at stop sign. Go 1.6 miles to Merrymeeting Lake Rd. Go 1.8 miles, then right onto Powder Mill Station Fish Hatchery. Just past hatchery turn left onto Powder Mill Rd. and go 1.1 miles.

Colby Hill Forest

Location: Henniker, NH

Acreage: 107 acres

Protected: 1993

Directions: At junction of Routes 202 & 114 in Henniker, head North on Route 114. Take left immediately past gas station on left, onto road that parallels Route 202. Go approximately 1.5 miles through 4-way stop sign. Take first right onto Colby Hill Rd. by blueberry field. Gravel road turns to woods road in 1.0 mile. Take right by old cabin, then follow crude trail North to Colby Hill Forest.

Chute Forest

Location: Hillsboro, NH

Acreage: 124 acres

Protected: 1984

Directions: At the junction of Routes 9 & 31 N in Hillsboro, take Route 31 North to Hillsboro Upper Village. Take first right onto Washington Rd. Go about 1.5 miles to intersection of gravel road. Turn right at Crane's Auction Barn. Go up a hill and take 2nd driveway on right. Park past house. Continue on woods road, taking sharp L. Walk 0.6 mile downhill. Road continues to a marsh.

Parker Hill Forest

Location: Roxbury, NH

Acreage: 89 acres

Protected: 1992

Directions: Begin at the Chesham Rd. intersection of Route 101 in Dublin. Go North on Chesham Rd. for 0.6 miles and turn left on Meadow Rd. Go West for 0.9 miles and turn right on Hardy Hill Rd. Go North 1.1 miles to a "T" intersection. Turn right onto the access road to Parker Hill Forest. Walk East for 0.3 miles.Forest will be on the left.

Taves Forest

Location: Roxbury/Marlborough, NH

Acreage: 175 acres

Protected: 1982

Directions: From the center of Marlborough, head East on Route 101. After 0.8 miles, turn left then immediately bear left again. In about 0.5 mile, turn right at a "T" intersection. In about 1 mile, continue straight at a crossroad onto Dillingham Rd. After about 0.7 miles, the road enters Roxbury. The sign and gate to Taves Forest is just past the first house on the right.

Lamprey River Forest

Location: Epping, NH

Acreage: 108 acres

Protected: 2000

Directions: From Route 101, take exit 7. Go North on Route 125 about 1 mile. Take left on Route 27 West. Go 0.25 miles to blinking traffic light and take the right onto Main St. Go 0.25 miles to Prescott Rd. and take a left. Continue about 1.5 miles. Look for a stonewall on the left. Enter property through a break in the stonewall.

Cockermouth Forest

Location: Groton, NH

Acreage: 1002 acres

Protected: 1991

Directions: Take Exit 26 off I-93. Go West on Route 25 to a traffic circle. Go South on Route 3A about 5 miles. Watch for North Shore Rd. on the right. Travel West on North Shore Rd. Continue straight by Hebron Store about 1.75 miles. Turn right to North Groton Rd. by library. Continue about 2 miles to gate on right.

Etta M. & Leon P. Tilton Memorial Forest

Location: Gilmanton, NH

Acreage: 203 acres

Protected: 1988

Directions: From the intersection of Routes 107 & 106 in Laconia, take Route 107 S for 2.4 miles. Turn left onto Durrell Mt. Rd. and travel 2.2 miles. Park where the road steepens and continue on foot 700' to a log landing on right. A woods road goes South from here.

Jennings Forest

Location: New Durham, NH

Acreage: 396 acres

Protected: 1986

Directions: From the blinking light in New Durham, travel South East on Route 11 for 1.4 miles and turn left onto Davis Cross Rd. Go through crossroad, continue up hill, and bear right on Middleton Rd. Park on right side of Middleton Rd. near the property sign and gate in less than 1 mile.

Peabody Forest

Location: Shelburne, NH

Acreage: 83 acres

Protected: 1960

Directions: From Gorham follow Rt. 2 for 3.5 miles East; take left over bridge across Androscoggin River. Head East (right) on North Rd. In 1 mile, Peabody Brook Trail leaves the road on the left. Park on right of road. Follow the trail to enter the property at East end of the trail's brook crossing.

Blaine Forest

Location: Jaffrey, NH

Acreage: 167 acres

Protected: 1967

Directions: From Jaffrey Center on Route 124, turn right onto Thorndike Pond Rd. and go approximately 1.8 miles to trailhead on the right. Continue down road and park on the right at the top of the hill in an old landing site. Trail follows network of logging roads to Woodbury Hill Rd. to the East.

John and Anna King Forest

Location: Deering, NH

Acreage: 311 acres

Protected: 1988

Directions: At junction of Routes 202 & 9 in Hillsboro, take Route 202 West toward Antrim for 2.1 miles. Turn left on 2nd NH Turnpike toward West Deering. Go 0.4 miles. Turn left again over bridge. Continue straight for 3.3 miles. Property starts on the left just past a campground.

Leslie C. Bockes Memorial Forest

Location: Londonderry, NH

Acreage: 71 acres

Protected: 1975

Directions: From I-93, take Exit 4. Travel West 2 miles on Route 102 to junction of Route 128. Go South on Route 128 for 3 miles. Turn right onto Bockes Rd. Go 0.1 mile and turn right on Mill Rd. Go 0.4 miles and the property is on the right.

Woodland Associates Forest

Location: New Boston, NH

Acreage: 191 acres

Protected: 1980

Directions: From center of New Boston, head South on Route 13 towards Milford. Immediately turn right onto Old Coach Rd. Access property from one of two gates. The first is 0.3 miles after turn from Route 13. The second is further down road on the left before a brook.

Alison Nims Piper Memorial Forest

Location: Sullivan, NH

Acreage: 199 acres

Protected: 1993

Directions: From blinking light on Route 9 in East Sullivan, turn North on Centre St. Go approximately 2 miles and bear right at a church. Go short distance and take right onto Gilsum Rd. Continue 1 mile to sign and two gates to parking area on the right.

Hope Forest

Location: South Danbury, NH

Acreage: 373 acres

Protected: 1991

Directions: Take Route 4 North in Andover toward Danbury. Just beyond the South Danbury church take a left onto Walker Brook Rd. Go 0.5 miles and make a right onto Roy Ford Rd. Go another 0.5 miles to gate on left. Walk down woods road to get to the trail.

Jelleme Forest

Location: Warner, NH

Acreage: 48 acres

Protected: 1966

Directions: Take Route 4 North in Andover toward Danbury. Just beyond the South Danbury church take a left onto Walker Brook Rd. Go 0.5 miles and make a right onto Roy Ford Rd. Go another 0.5 miles to gate on left. Walk down woods road to get to the trail.

Philip Haseltine & Irene Williamson Blodgett Forest

Location: Grafton, NH

Acreage: 100 acres

Protected: 1994

Directions: From Canaan, take Route 4 South about 3 miles. Go West about 1.7 miles to on Height of Land Rd. Park on side of the road and walk South on an unmaintained road about 1 mile. Property is on the West side of road.

Langenau Forest

Location: Wilmot, NH

Acreage: 168 acres

Protected: 1986

Directions: From junction of Routes 11 & 4A, travel North on Route 4A. After Wilmot, turn left at the town sheds onto Pedrick Rd. Follow Pedrick Rd. to a "T" intersection and turn left. Continue to a "Y" intersection and bear right onto Granite Hill Rd. to the end.

Royal C. Nemiah Forest

Location: Lyme, NH

Acreage: 105 acres

Protected: 1988

Directions: From Hanover, head North for approximately 7.5 miles from Hanover Country Club. At junction of Shoestrop and Preston Hill Rds., turn right. Travel 0.4 miles on Preston Hill Rd. Take woods road

Haffenreffer Forest

Location: Enfield, NH

Acreage: 199 acres

Protected: 1991

Directions: From I-89, take exit 17. Follow Route 4 for 9.4 miles to Potato Rd. on right (at Enfield Granite sign) and turn right. Continue 2.6 miles uphill to stop sign. Turn left on Lockehaven Rd. and continue 0.5 miles to field on right overlooking Spectacle Pond.

Olsen Family Forest

Location: Sullivan, NH

Acreage: 775 acres

Protected: 1998

Directions: From Route 9 in Sullivan, go North on Center St. Continue into Sullivan Village and turn right at town hall on Church St. Take the right on Gilsum Rd. then go right on Boynton Hill Rd. Park on the side of the road at gate.

Stimson Forest

Location: Ossipee, NH

Acreage: 45 acres

Protected: 1989

Directions: At the junction of Routes 16 & 28 in Ossipee, travel on Route 16 for 0.2 miles. Turn right onto Elm St. Go 0.1 miles to a fork in the road, then turn right at fork (Elm St.). Go 1.1 miles to property on the left.

Sidney Butler Smith Woodland

Location: Sandwich, NH

Acreage: 203 acres

Protected: 1999

Directions: Take Route 25 to Route 113 North, heading to Tamworth. Go about 0.75 miles and turn left on Hollow Hill Rd. Continue for 0.3 miles. When road changes to gravel, take right onto a small gravel road. This leads to the forest.

Madame Sherri Forest

Location: West Chesterfield, NH

Acreage: 488 acres

Protected: 1991

Directions: Follow Route 9 West toward Brattleboro, VT. Just before crossing the Connecticut River into VT, turn left onto Mountain Rd. (next to a motel). Go 0.1 miles, then bear left at fork onto Gulf Road. Continue about 2.2 miles to property entrance.

Patrick Woodlot

Location: Colebrook, NH

Acreage: 70 acres

Protected: 1979

Directions: From Colebrook, follow Rt. 3 North about 2 miles. Turn right on Piper Hill Rd., then in about 0.6 mile, turn right on Aldrich Rd. The property begins in about 900' on the left, just after a house and just before a wetland area.

Sanborn Memorial Forest

Location: Epping, NH

Acreage: 27 acres

Protected: 1992

Directions: From the junction of Routes 125 & 87 in Epping, go 0.4 miles on Route 87. Turn left at sign for Rum Brook Horse Farm. Drive through barnyard to woods road. Property begins in a few 100 yards on North on the left.

Cabbot Memorial Forest

Location: Boscowan, NH

Acreage: 57 acres

Protected: 1993

Directions: From Boscawen, take Route 4 N about 4 miles. Cabot Forest is located on the right, just beyond a small cemetery. At property sign, drive onto a gravel road. Park at the field/log landing at the end of the gravel road.

Porter-Rogerson Forest

Location: Tamworth, NH

Acreage: 203 acres

Protected: 1999

Directions: Take Route 25 to Route 113 North, heading to Tamworth. Go about 0.75 miles and turn left on Hollow Hill Rd. Continue for 0.3 miles. When road changes to gravel, take right onto a small gravel road. This leads to the forest.

Jones Forest

Location: Milton, NH

Acreage: 227 acres

Protected: 1975

Directions: Take Exit 18 from the Spaulding Turnpike, turn right on Route 125 and travel South for 0.7 miles. Park at the entrance of gravel access road on the right. Follow access road under the bridge to logging road extending to right.

Natale & Will Brown Forest

Location: Dunbarton, NH

Acreage: 159 acres

Protected: 1999

Directions: Take I-89 to exit 2. Follow Route 13 South about 4 miles to blinking traffic light. Turn left and continue on Route 13 South about 2.5 miles. Park on left side of road across from Beaver Pond.

Stearns-Lamont Forest

Location: Rindge, NH

Acreage: 123 acres

Protected: 1985

Directions: From the intersection of Routes 202 & 119 near West Rindge, head East on Route 119. The Stearns-Lamont Forest is located on the right, 3000' from Rt. 202. There is a gate near a small pond to enter the forest.

Stephens Forest

Location: Wilton, NH

Acreage: 120 acres

Protected: 1995

Directions: From the junction of Routes 101 & 31 North in Wilton, head left on Abbott Hill Rd. Bear left at "Y" and then turn right onto Badger Farm Rd. Continue past Mason Rd. till the end of Badger Farm Rd.

Eastman Forest

Location: Grantham, NH

Acreage: 40 acres

Protected: 1984

Directions: From I-89 N, take Exit 13 and turn right. Or, from I-89 South, turn left at Exit 13. In just a few hundred feet, turn right onto Eastman Rd. Eastman Forest runs along the left side of the road.

Woodman Forest

Location: Boscowan, NH

Acreage: 115 acres

Protected: 1997

Directions: From I-93, take exit 17 to Route 4 North. Go about 3.5 miles and bear left toward Salisbury/Andover. Continue 0.5 miles further and turn left on Corn Hill Rd. Property entrance is 2.7 miles up road on the right.

Weeks Forest

Location: Gilford, NH

Acreage: 86 acres

Protected: 1988

Directions: The entrance to Weeks Forest is located on the North side of Route 11A just East of Gilford Village. Parking is available across the highway at the Gilford Town Office. Trail maps are available at the town library.

Welch Family Farm Forest

Location: Hancock, NH

Acreage: 120 acres

Protected: 1995

Directions: From Route 202/9 in Stoddard, follow Route 123 South about 5 miles. Watch for Hunts Pond Rd. on right opposite small wooden Harris Center sign on the left. Take next left on Welch Farm Rd.

Journey's End, Bell-Cofield Forest

Location: Washington, NH

Acreage: 202 acres

Protected: 1999

Directions: From Route 31 in Washington, turn on East Washington Rd. Continue about 1.5 miles to Washington Dr. Go left and follow road to the end. Property entrance is located at the end of road.

Wilkins-Campbell Forest

Location: Deering, NH

Acreage: 221 acres

Protected: 1999

Directions: From traffic light in downtown Hillsboro (Route 202/9), take Route 149 South for about 1.7 miles. Bear right on Old County Rd. and go about 3.1 miles. Turn right on Falls Rd. Park along road.

Brundage Forest

Location: Pittsburg, NH

Acreage: 238 acres

Protected: 1982

Directions: From Pittsburg, follow Rt. 3 N for 6 miles to First Connecticut Lake. From dam, continue 1 mile. Turn left onto second road opposite lake. Turn right in 600' onto property and park at gate.

Zephaniah Breed Forest

Location: Weare, NH

Acreage: 52 acres

Protected: 1992

Directions: From junction of Routes 77 & 114, just North of Weare Center, head South on Route 114. Take first right onto Quaker St. Continue 0.9 miles. The property is on the left.

Guy I. Burch Forest

Location: Freedom, NH

Acreage: 20 acres

Protected: 1983

Directions: Just 0.5 miles West of the ME-NH line on Route 25. The Burch Forest is on the right just past a small side road approximately 1.4 miles from Route 25.

Merriman Forest

Location: Sandwich, NH

Acreage: 102 acres

Protected: 1995

Directions: Just past the junction of Routes 25B & 25 in Center Harbor, turn left onto Bean Rd. Go about 5.1 miles. Property is on the right. Look for a marked trailhead.

Kauffman Forest

Location: Stark, NH

Acreage: 1672 acres

Protected: 1994

Directions: From Groveton, take Rt. 110 East to Stark. At village center, turn left. Pass through the covered bridge. Devil's Slide (part of the Kauffmann Forest) faces the village and overlooks it.

Sudrabin Forest

Location: Orange, NH

Acreage: 60 acres

Protected: 1992

Directions: Take Route 4 to East Grafton. Travel North on Tenney Rd. to end of maintained road. Property is located about 1 mile East. It is not accessible by a vehicle.

Thurston V. Williams Family Forest

Location: Stoddard, NH

Acreage: 379 acres

Protected: 1979

Directions: This property can only be accessed through the Pickerel Cove and Pioneer Lake tracts from the South. Only experienced hikers should trek through these woods.

McCabe Forest

Location: Antrim, NH

Directions: From the center of Antrim, follow Route 202 North. In approximately 0.2 miles turn right onto Elm St. Extension Rd. Parking area is 300' on the right.

Mary & Quentin Hutchins Forest

Location: Canterbury, NH

Protected: 1989

Directions: Take I-93 to Exit 17E. Travel 0.6 mile East. Turn left onto Route 132 and continue for 1.7 miles. Property is on the right.

Cooper Cedar Woods

Location: New Durham, NH

Directions: Located on Route 11, 4.5 miles South of junction of Routes 11 & 28. A sign on the right marks the parking area/entrance.

Estes Forest

Location: Concord, NH

Directions: From I-93, take exit 16 and go East to Mountain Rd. Turn left and continue about 1 mile. Property is located on the left.

The Rumrill Family Forest

Location: Stoddard, NH

Directions: The Rumrill Forest lies immediately South of Crider Forest.
