OBX Campground

The OBX Campground is located on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, which is a narrow strip of land that sits on the state's far eastern coast. While this spit of land covers almost 100 miles in length, it is less than 10 miles wide in some areas. The small community of Kill Devil Hills is nearest to the park, though the closest true town is Nags Head, located less than 10 miles to the south. The nearest larger city is Chesapeake, VA, at around 90 miles to the north.

This area is surrounded by water, from the Atlantic Ocean to the east, to Albemarle Sound, which separates it from the mainland to the west. In several places, this part of the state is comprised of a series of islands that are connected by long bridges, or vehicle ferries. The local towns are small, but there are still plenty of gas stations and grocery stores where you can acquire any supplies you may need. There are also plenty of restaurants available that specialize in two local favorites, seafood, and BBQ! With a stay at this family-friendly campground in eastern NC, you shouldn't struggle to locate any services you may need.

OBX campground offers both short and long-term reservations. There is also cable, WiFi, bathrooms, showers, and campsites with varying hookups available for guests. A playground for the kids is provided, as well, and some of the sites offer water views. You will even find a historic cemetery within the park's boundaries. Camping with an RV near here makes for a great base camp when exploring all over this scenic area.
