Discover Kill Devil Hills RV rentals for memorable road trips

It's not exactly clear how the town of Kill Devil Hills got its unique name. This small village on the Outer Banks barrier islands of North Carolina is said to be named for a homemade rum called “Kill Devil Rum” due to its strength and potency, but others dispute this claim. What we do know about Kill Devil Hills is that from a historical standpoint, it is one of the more fascinating places you could imagine. At one point in time, it was nothing more than a small indigenous fishing encampment, and it was not until well after it was officially established that the town began its ascent to becoming one of the state’s and region’s most famous vacation destinations.

This popular park is one of the most visited in the entire state, known for its massive sand dunes that stand tall above both the ocean and the surrounding town. The protected dunes are a vital part of the coastal ecosystem, holding an impressive variety of wildlife in all shapes and sizes. You can even visit the park’s museum for up-to-date information about the natural environment of the Outer Banks.

City Sightseeing

Kill Devil Hills is an exciting place to vacation, yet for most of the year, the population is quite small, with only a core group of people making up the community. In the summertime, a large influx of people pours into town, and naturally, to entertain them, there is a variety of bars, seafood restaurants, art galleries, cinemas, mini golf courses, regular golf courses, and other assorted activities. Avalon Fishing Pier is somewhat of a landmark, easily noticeable when walking along the beach in Kill Devil Hills. You can test your angling skills from this awesome structure and catch huge fish from the Atlantic, or play some arcade games while eating some tasty food.

Our original plans well through with our own camper so we had to reach out nearly last minute and Tim was fantastic during the whole process! Arrival weather was less than ideal for both parties, but Tim had the camper set up and ready for us before we arrived. All we had to worry about was getting inside and settled. We had an incredibly windy first day/night and Tim was kind enough to check in on us the next morning to see how we fared. The camper itself was also fantastic and was clean and organized. It was well stocked and included things you don't think about bringing to the beach - like a measuring cup for pancakes! We would not hesitate to rent from Tim and Stephanie again!! They went above and beyond with everything including delivery and set up in high winds and rain. I wish I could give more than 5 stars!!

Tim was great he set up on time and the RV was super clean and had everything we needed. He also set up a dog fence for me as well as had a nice dog pack that we were able to utilize. Can't say enough about how perfect my first experience using the rental option. The bed was super comfortable.
