Camping at Merchants Millpond State Park
Those RV camping at Merchants Millpond State Park will only find limited facilities for dry camping within the park itself. Campers need not worry too much as there RV accommodating campgrounds within a short drive of the state park. Rocky Hock Campground is only a short drive south from the park and offers an array of camping amenities and facilities. Full 20, 30, 50 amp electrical, water, and sewage hookups are provided here. Facilities at this campground include a dump station, flushing toilets, shower blocks, a laundry service, and RV storage units.
Exploring the Area
Much of the surrounding Gates County comprises of rural sites and seeing nature. If campers wish to explore more of the area and seek more exciting places, the Virginia city of Norfolk is only an hour’s drive north. Calvin, the host was extremely helpful prior to and all throughout our trip. He made himself accessible if we had any problems he was very helpful throughout the process.
