RV rental Albertville, AL: Motorhome rentals, camper van rentals and more

Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center was established in 1938 by order of President Franklin D. Roosevelt in order to create a refuge and breeding ground for migrating birds and other wildlife species. It was originally a hydro-electric impoundment, and the project was an experiment, the first ever refuge on such an impoundment created to see if migratory birds could be attracted there. The area has bottomland and upland tree stands, swamps and backwater embayments, and several other natural ecosystems. The park has a cooperative farming program with agricultural fields providing food sources to the resident wildlife, and caves that can be explored. Interpretive and educational programs are offered, and guests can enjoy viewing the landscape and its inhabitants, hiking, bicycling and boating, and other activities. Fishing and hunting are allowed with the appropriate licenses. Bankhead National Forest is a multi-purpose outdoor recreation area with several distinct areas scattered throughout, each offering a combination of activities. Hikers have their choice of miles upon miles of trails to choose from, and there are several rustic campgrounds with water and electrical outlets. Hunting is allowed, and hunters have access to designated hunter’s camps while non-hunters can primitive camp in the general forest and wilderness; all visitors should wear bright clothing and exercise caution during hunting season. Fishing and swimming are also popular activities in the forest. Park your Albertville camper rental nearby, and you can retire to comfort when your activities are concluded. Little River Canyon National Preserve is an outdoor recreation area that is open to the public year-round. One of its unique features is that Little River flows on top of Lookout Mountain for almost its entire journey. The preserve has canyon rims, sandstone cliffs and bluffs, waterfalls and pools, and forested uplands all providing a variety of possible activities. Guests can enjoy swimming and whitewater paddling, rock climbing, and scenic drives through two roadways that dissect the park. Hunting and fishing are allowed with the appropriate licenses.
